Updated review (mid 2023): Corporate, take notice! These guys desperately need your help or all the money you put into building this beautiful new location will be wasted. They cannot handle the drive-thru at all. We just sat in the drive-thru for over 30 minutes with our car turned off most of the time, only because we already had put in 4 orders through the app, (to pick up for myself and others). I cannot believe we waited longer to pick up a pre-placed to-go order at a fast food restaurant then I would wait to get a meal at a sit-down! đ€Ż What?!
Also, this location shares a parking lot with a Starbucks and so the drive-thru line was blocking the cars leaving the Starbucks drive-thru!!
At one point I got out of the car and went inside to just grab our orders since the app said they were complete, but none of the employees would even make eye contact with me, (I'm sure for fear that I was going to place an order and they'd have one more thing to do)! I left to head back to our car which hadn't moved even an inch after a long wait inside and having no one even look at me... On purpose.
Taco John's, fix this! Make your restaurant a place people want to work so you have a larger crew, and more of a choice pick. I've NEVER had this experience anywhere else, and I hate to say it, but this isn't the first time the line took too long... There have been a couple other recent visits that took longer than 10 minutes, and I thought -and still think- that is too long for 'fast food'. I have been in long lines in all the other local fast food drive-thrus and none have ever taken even 10 minutes!!
My recommendation to other consumers here on Google, avoid this restaurant during all lunch and dinner hours. It's just too 'busy' for them to handle in a timely manner.
The only positive I can come up with and the reason I'm not downgrading this restaurant all the way down to a one-star is because the rewards and freebies through the app are still really good, you just have to use them in between lunch and dinner, otherwise it will not be worth the wait.
Taco John's, once you get your staff up and running better, you got to make that second lane for the drive-thru open for mobile orders only. It's killer to wait behind a bunch of people who are putting in an order and then have to wait for their order to get cooked when you know yours is done and just sitting there getting cold...
Original post (early 2023 - previously 4-star): The drive-through line at lunch time is always very long, and they do not have a way to speed it up which is very unfortunate... You're just stuck. Be warned, if the line looks long, it will probably take you a long time to get out of it! Go in to order or try somewhere else. However, I used to vehemently dislike Taco John's, and after trying them again here, I will say I enjoyed the food just fine! Taco Bell is still better, to me, but this is not the bad stuff I remember from maybe 10 years ago (or so)!! Plus I like the deals/rewards using the app. I wish there were a couple other dollar options besides just a cheese quesadilla, but overall this is definitely not a bad option...
Read moreA Disheartening Drive-Thru Experience at Taco John's Fast food drive-thrus are designed to offer convenience and quick service, making them a popular choice for those on the go. Unfortunately, my recent drive-thru experience at Taco John's was far from convenient, leaving me frustrated and disappointed. As I pulled up to the drive-thru, I was immediately struck by the long line of cars. Despite the wait, I decided to stay, hoping the service would be efficient. However, as the minutes ticked by, it became clear that the staff was struggling to keep up with the orders. The line moved at a snail's pace, and I found myself waiting far longer than expected. When I finally reached the speaker to place my order, the employee's tone was curt and unwelcoming. I had to repeat my order multiple times due to apparent communication issues, which only added to my frustration. After placing my order, I proceeded to the window, where I was met with further delays. The staff seemed disorganized and overwhelmed, and it took an additional ten minutes before I received my food. Upon receiving my order, I quickly checked the bag to ensure everything was correct. Unfortunately, I discovered that several items were missing, and the tacos that were included were poorly assembled. The shells were soggy, and the meat was lukewarm and lacked flavor. The overall presentation was unappetizing, and the taste did little to improve my mood. The ingredients did not seem fresh, which was particularly disappointing given Taco John's reputation for its unique and flavorful offerings. Adding to the negative experience, the drink I received was incorrect. I had ordered a soda, but was given a different beverage instead. When I brought this to the attention of the staff, they seemed indifferent and took several more minutes to correct the mistake. In conclusion, my drive-thru experience at Taco John's was a regrettable one, marked by long wait times, poor service, and subpar food quality. The convenience of a drive-thru should not come at the expense of quality and customer satisfaction. I hope that Taco John's management takes steps to address these issues, as the potential for a great dining experience is there, but significant improvements are needed...
Read moreA Disappointing Experience at Taco John's Dining out is often an enjoyable experience, offering a break from the routine and a chance to savor different cuisines. However, my recent visit to Taco John's was far from pleasant, leaving me with a sense of disappointment and frustration. Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately struck by the lack of cleanliness. The floors were sticky, and several tables had not been cleared, with leftover food and wrappers scattered about. This initial impression set a negative tone for the rest of my visit. The service was equally disheartening. Despite the restaurant not being particularly busy, I had to wait an unusually long time to place my order. The staff seemed disorganized and inattentive, more interested in chatting among themselves than attending to customers. When I finally reached the counter, the cashier was curt and unhelpful, making the ordering process feel rushed and impersonal. When my food finally arrived, it was clear that quality control was not a priority. The tacos were poorly assembled, with ingredients haphazardly thrown together. The shells were soggy, and the meat was lukewarm at best. The overall presentation was unappetizing, and the taste did little to redeem the experience. The flavors were bland, and the ingredients did not seem fresh, which was particularly disappointing given Taco John's reputation for its unique and flavorful offerings. Adding to the frustration, the drink station was poorly maintained. Several of the soda options were out of order, and the area was cluttered with spilled beverages and discarded cups. It was evident that the staff had not attended to this area for some time, further contributing to the overall sense of neglect. In conclusion, my visit to Taco John's was a regrettable experience marred by poor service, subpar food quality, and a lack of cleanliness. Dining out should be a pleasant and satisfying experience, but this visit left much to be desired. I hope that Taco John's management takes steps to address these issues, as the potential for a great dining experience is there, but significant improvements are needed...
