While shopping in downtown Butte, we asked some of the merchants about a good place for breakfast. Universally the answer was "the M&M." They were not wrong. You can read about the M&M's long history in Butte, I won't repeat that here. Suffice it to say, the M&M is a fixture in downtown Butte. We stopped on a Sunday morning and sat at the counter right inside the front door. From there we could see two of the grill cooks hard at work. I struck up a conversation with the cook directly in front of me who was making pancakes and French toast. In the back was another cook cranking out hash browns, bacon, and other delights. There was a third grill cook that I couldn't see well and he appeared to be making eggs and omelets? I ordered a short stack of pancakes with bacon. My wife had the corned beef hash. Both were exceptional and I could not finish both pancakes - they were the size of a dinner plate. The bacon was just the way I like it, nice and crisp. My wife said the corned beef hash was perfect and it looked like they make their own corned beef. We had coffee which was a local brew, and it was excellent. Our server was great and the entire time we were there, someone walked around with a coffee pot to refill our cups. Breakfast for two people was $33.00 which we thought was quite reasonable considering the quality and the amount of food. We hope to get back one more time for breakfast before we leave the Butte area. By all means give the M&M a try if you are in the neighborhood.

Smoky (from the fast action at the griddle), modern, quirky (coins in the table tops), and comfortable. The legend of the original ocation is next door on the sidewalk-this place is Butte history. The bartender waitress was fantastic. She made me a fantastic set of double crown cranberries. The food was cooked and served rapidly. My king of clubs sandwich with fries was great. My Mr.'s chicken sandwich was good. However, the poor onion rings. They looked good, but there was something off, and for my big guy to not eat an onion ring, there had to be something wrong. Wasn't sure if it was the oil or the onion rings themselves, but he literally spit one out after trying it - which is a one in a million occurencee. We let the staff know, and they took it off the bill. Overall, it's not a bad experience. I like the place and will definitely be back.

First time here and wow we were really impressed! The staff and even the other diners were so friendly. Even though the place was packed, we were served quickly. Our waitress was super welcoming, and we felt like locals even though we’re not from the area. Breakfast was really good, honestly, everything was great. This hidden gem is definitely worth a visit for breakfast or lunch. Prices are very reasonable, the place is clean, there’s plenty of parking, and the vibes are just amazing as soon as you walk in. Big thanks for the awesome service!

When this place was under previous ownership I enjoyed it! Since the new ownership I have been there one time and it was the worst experience of my life and I have been in California, Nevada, Arizona, Oregon... pretty much everywhere on the west coast!!! I went in with about 20-30 friends on a party bus that took us all around Town... the M&M was our last stop to eat and drink. The waitress/owner took our beers without warning because it was last call; then it took over an hour to get our food; then we waited over an hour to get the check; then I went outside while my friends were using the restroom to see if our bus had returned from dropping our friends off and the waitress/owner followed me out and accused me of skipping on the bill. I literally had the money in my hand and told her I was going back in, I was just checking for the bus. She took the money and I told her to bring the change to my table (because I obviously was not about to tip her!) and she did not. When I saw her a few minutes later I asked about my change and she told me that she left it at the end of the bar (only god knows why). I went to get it and it was not there... when I told it her it was gone she said that someone must have taken it. I complained that she should have brought it to my table where I was sitting for about 3 hours by this point... and she pushed my back and told me to get out of her establishment. I will never return and have never been treated that disrespectfully in my entire life! Once we got on our bus, the driver told my friends and I that the other friends he previously gave a ride to said almost the same thing about the owner! Maybe she thought I was just another drunk but obviously I wasn’t, since that was about about half an hour before writing...
