Came here because we discovered it last time we were in Butte. They make amazing cocktails. We asked for the Batenders Choice and after the bartender asked our flavour profiles he recommended the Toronto! It was the perfect recommendation seeing as we’re Canadian. LOL We were disappointed though that the rotary phone they normally have for ppl to use to open the door was on the fritz!

This is such a cool place. Really great environment and full of butte history. The owner was bad tending and was so friendly and easy to talk with. I’m sad we don’t live closer because I would be there all the time! Totally worth the stop!!

We went in a weeknight and were the only people here. Love the ambiance of this place and the cocktails were fantastic as well as the outstanding conversation with the bartenders. What a fun bar!

51 Below has gradually risen to excellence in cocktails. They also engage the public through occasional live music and trivia competition (winter). Maybe use the term "speak easy" just to denote good mixology as signs identifying the location as open are clearly apparent, whereas a traditional speakeasy is a semi-secret cocktail bar. Still, it is pretty nice with good service, and good cocktails. Sadly, the autistics are not appropriate for loud music and musicians seem to want more attention than is supported by the venue. (Turn it down lads, if someone sits far away, they probably want to chat without shouting over your interference. That is, if you are a musician playing, then consider putting your ego aside; people that want to hear you can, but not everyone wants every second focused on you--you are entertainment,...

Really cool atmosphere. In the basement of the Miner's Hotel in Butte's historic district. We went on a weeknight recently and had the entire place to ourselves. Great experience as we were able to chat with the bartender about the history of the building while having a couple cocktails.

The bar is very spacious with plenty of places to either socialize or find a quiet table away from people. The cocktails were nice and the beer / liquor selection was solid.

If we lived in Butte, we would no doubt be regulars and we will always stop in if we drive through town. We talked about staying in the above hotel next time we spend the night in Butte.

1st rate customer service...

Cute bar with interesting quirky features. Unfortunately when I ordered a negroni the bar man told me it was "too busy for fancy drinks" and refused to make me a cocktail...IN A COCKTAIL BAR!! I was stunned, I think he heard how ridiculous he sounded especially since it's three simple ingredients stirred together. I'm certain something like a whiskey sour is more complicated. He reluctantly made me my drink but it was pretty awful customer service. Would not go back due to this individual who was pretty sour all night and was not...
