Extremely disappointed in Metal’s front of the house staff. We often eat at Metals, and we were blown away by their lack of service this weekend. A group of 10 of us stopped in for lunch, 6 adults and 4 children. We asked for a table for 10 but they did not have availability at that time. Totally understandable, it was lunch hour on a Saturday. They did have smaller tables available that could seat 4 or 6, so we asked if we could just get separate tables as we were a group of friends with our kids and didn’t mind breaking our group apart. The kids were hungry and this seemed like a good solution that allowed for smaller seating and full bellies. The 2 young gentlemen working the front of the house, after walking around looking at empty tables and speaking to a waitress, told us they couldn’t accommodate any of us because it would be too much work for their servers to split us all up. We stood there confused and I asked the young man if he was joking. He said no, and so we left. Curious why Metal’s would turn away patrons when they have half a dozen empty tables. Should we have walked out, and then all entered the establishment separately, and each family asked for a table? We often enjoy Metal’s but after our experience today I’m not so sure...

My girlfriend and I both ordered steaks here and the lady that took our order did it by memory, she did not write anything down. Not sure if this is a signature trademark for employees to do that here but obviously somehow she messed our order up, both of our steaks came back well done when we did not ask for that. They had hardly any seasoning. I paid almost $40 for a ribeye and it was not worth the money at all. I also asked for sautéed mushrooms on mine and they looked like they came straight from a can. Nothing was sautéed about them. Service was pretty subpar , did not get any steak knives and waitress never came by to check on us so I could even ask for one. By the time we were already finished with our food she was ready to give us a bill. The only reason why it deserves 2 stars instead of 1 is because of the cool building & atmosphere in historic uptown butte. It’s really a shame because this restaurant does have potential to better themselves. I used to always eat here and this was my worst experience I’ve had. Won’t be returning until they can improve their service and...

Go for the atmosphere, not the food.

I adore the building. High ceilings and beautiful columns with a vault you can eat in! They have the nicest and friendliest staff and the tables are not cramped in. There are stunning arched windows through which you can people watch on the street and the East Ridge as you dine. They also have decent drinks, even if they are a bit over iced and never quite strong enough to match the price.

I have no idea what they really do, but it tastes to me like they microwaze their appetizers... I just know I've consistently paid a slightly above average price for appetizers that taste mediocre and overy dry. Basically, they taste exactly like what I can make at home with frozen appetizers from the store. The entrees are much better but nothing truly outstanding.

However, I would highly recommend going and checking it out for yourself. Maybe it was just a certain cook I kept getting before I stopped going. If nothing else, the wonderful staff and gorgeous building are something to experience...

We ALMOST went to a Chinese restaurant for dinner that had mixed reviews. We drove up to it and yeah, it kinda looked sketchy as some of the reviews pointed out. So we drove around the neighborhood and came across Metals Sports Bar and Grill. From the street we could see through the large windows it was well lit, approachable, and a fair crowd seated. We said yeah, thats better! A converted bank (the vault exists as a private seating room and wine case), they offered a reasonably priced, varied, and interesting menu of steak, chops, seafood, sandwiches, pizza, and burgers. I had the 7 oz. sirloin and side of chili, my gal had crab cakes. Both dishes were served hot and both delicious, although I thought the crab cakes did smell fishy ( I had fresh on the coast and they did NOT smell fishy!). Good value, great service, and local selection of craft brew. Come here and enjoy the view from the large windows facing the street and mountains beyond.

My apologies to those of you who thought it necessary to post a negative review here. I am not an employee here, not do I know anyone who works here. Because the country is getting back to "normal", it will most likely take the hospitality industry longer to recover. I don't have the opportunity to dine here at Metals often. I was pleasantly (not surprised) greeted by El at the bar. I had the Ahi Poke Bowl, & a side of Onion Rings. El is "Da' Bomb". If there's a better Server/Bartender in Butte than El, I don't know who he/she is. She took care of my drinks, & everything else, as close to perfection as possible. Feeling utterly relaxed here, I paid my tab, then realized I needed dessert. The Tiramisu did not dissappoint at all. Thanks to El, & all the crew here at Metals tonight, for an awesome evening! ☮️

I’m not at all a sports fan but the place was pretty impressive with all the sports memorabilia. Service was quick and our server was very helpful and friendly. Food was good. The tuna sandwich was so delicious. Potato salad was also very tasty. Great amount of beer options, I tried only one, the local one, and it was really good. The Lovely Lavender cocktail was amazing, not overly sweet, just perfect. However the Huckleberry one didn’t look appealing (pictured)… Taste wise, well, I personally did not like it, but everyone has different taste buds. We were just driving through the town, but if I was from the area I would for sure visit the restaurant again. Great use of the old bank, nicely preserved, good atmosphere as well. Definitely recommend.
