A couple nights ago this week.... I Went there in evening late dinner.. the wait was almost ten minutes once I finally got to menu before I could order. It took terribly long. I love pork chop johns but never have I ever had such a terrible sandwich. I've had leftover pj's reheated that was better, no joke. It was like someone had smashed the patty into the grill and the breading was like soggy an hanging off of the patty, the bun was soggy and toppings added very sloppily, and the end of the onion like the very round chewy end was on my sandwich too. It took so long to get two sandwiches and fries it was ridiculous!! And the drive thru girl couldn't have been any more enthusiastic, she may have jst been tired idk but the service and the food were absolutely terrible. Im not one to complain a lot and I can understand a lot of circumstances ect . But the food was by far unacceptable. Very disappointing. Of course I will again choose to order from Pork Chop John's, and im hoping this is taken as...

Now in writing this review I want you to know there are two John's. Uptown and downtown's. I shall be writing on behalf of both.

Uptown: in the classic walk in bar diner fashion that made it so popular in the beginning The Uptown John's holds fast to that tradition, clean establishment, friendly staff, and absolutely wonderful fast delicious food. I cannot begin to praise them enough.

Downtown: clean the damn establishment. Filthy dining room, dreadful open cooking area for everyone to see, and if you want to go to the bathroom in a clean restroom. Well you'd better go across the street. The worst part of this though is the food. Everything you love about the uptown establishment is nowhere to be seen in the downtown food half assed put together, smushed buns old cold fries, they lack the code and fundamentals that the uptown one uses daily.

So if you're wanting a pork chop sandwich, I'd suggest the uptown store, because at least there you...

Solid 4 stars.

We happen to make a stop in Butte for a night. I was intrigued by the name and decided to give it a try. We arrived at the restaurant around 8:40PM (08/17/21).

Our drive thru order: 2 pork chop sandwiches with everything, 1 french fries, 1 chef salad. The food was delicious and totally competitive in quality and quantity compared to other fast food restaurants (if not better). I didn't even take pictures of the food, because we were hungry.

The only thing that kind of made it feel a little bit sketchy was the outside of the restaurant was dark and it looked a little bit dingy. When I pulled up the drive thru, I thought they're already closed, but then I heard the voice through the speaker. Service was fairly quick, and friendly.

I think they need to rebrand or market themselves better, because they've got something unique with their pork chop sandwiches. I hope they'll stay in...

An Absolute Gem In Montana‼️💎 #foodreview #eating #bestrestaurants #localgems #tastetest

I ordered the pork burger, which combines a hamburger patty and a pork chop in one sandwich. I’m usually not a big fan of pork chops, but theirs won me over. The pork chop was battered and fried to perfection—crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The whole burger, with all its toppings, came together surprisingly well. I’m not usually into mustard, but it really stood out in a good way here. I also tried the pork nuggets, which are basically bite-sized versions of the pork chop—battered, fried, juicy, and crispy. They could use a bit more seasoning, but the dipping sauce helps balance that out. The French fries were also great—battered, crispy, and nicely seasoned.

I give pork chop John's 5 stars but it's because I'm horribly biased. This place is a Montana tradition. Serving up pork chops bigger than the bun since I was born. The recent addition of brown gravy fries feels perfectly natural for Butte and the sandwiches hold up after all these years. Some folks aren't going to understand why this place stood the test of time, looking for a more modern aesthetic or trying to make this restaurant something it's not. Understand, pork chop John's is an institution and an experience. It should be lived to be understood and appreciated. The world could use more places like this. Simple good eats for good folks.
