Captain D's — Restaurant in Byram

Captain D's is always so good that we drive 20 miles one way just to get it. I always like the Catfish special, it has 4 large size pieces of Catfish filets, hushpuppies, french fries with 3 sides that you can choose from. My husband Likes 3 fish fillets, fries, hushpuppies and 2 sides. They have a great dessert Key lime pie, Haw, it's good! They give you a handful of condiments To choose from: tartar sauce, cocktail Sauce, malt vinegar, and ketchup. We get our drinks somewhere else because, going thru the drive thru, you can't get refills . But, the servings of fish and sides are so generous, we eat twice for about $22. So, we really get 4 meals for that amount! Great deal on great food and very courteous employees.So, customers don't have to wait long, they have you drive around the other side of the building, and Ina couple of minutes they bring out your food in a hefty take out bag, all exactly what you ordered, hot and...

I ordered a fish & chicken plate through drive thru. I paid & was then told to pull around to side door. About 10 minutes later the same cashier came outside & asked if I ordered crab. I told her no. So I waited another ten minutes and decided to go inside. I told them I wanted a refund because I waited so long already. The other cashier asked what I ordered. I told her & she go to the back and tries to give me food that's has been sitting there. Another lady who I assume was the manager swiped my card for the refund. Never apologized. She just said the refund would pop up in an hour. If she is the manager she should make sure orders are going out especially if we were asked to pull around. She comes across as lazy and nonchalant. Been coming here for years, and I have only had a problem once where I felt like a woman was rushing me to order. Today I found out that tartar sauce is now extra. $2.13 for 4 cups. It’s not their fault that this is now a rule, but I do feel it’s a bit unnecessary. Tartar sauce use to be complimentary. When I asked why I had to pay the young lady was very friendly about explaining, and I think that’s why I paid the $2.13 lol. Always friendly, you typically don’t have a long wait for your food, nor are the lines ever too long all the time except maybe weekends. But they usually are pretty quick regardless.
