FYI, Slim Chickens gives a military discount if you provide your military ID (active, reserve, retired, dependant). My husband & I stopped for lunch after church. We got our usual order plus 2 (FREE) kid's meals for our grandchildren. After we sat down, & I got everybody something to drink, I realized that I'd forgettn to add an order of fried okra (one of my favorite things about Slim Chickens!); so, I went back to place the order. We must have come during a lull because, in the span of a couple of minutes, the line was almost out the door. I waited my turn, placed the order for fried okra, & went back to my family. At this point, we'd been there for at least 10-15 minutes. The grandbabies were bored because the food was taking so long, & they were hungry. When our original order arrived, I was greatly disappointed. My husband & I had barely warm fries in our meals, but the kid's meals had piping hot fries...too hot for toddlers to eat. I'd ordered shaken tenders in BBQ sauce with additional BBQ sauce for dipping. My tenders were small & looked like they'd shriveled up, & there was no additional BBQ sauce. The server was nice & friendly but overworked & was gone in the blink of an eye, giving us no time to ask for an order of hot fries to replace the barely warm ones. So, we picked at our food while we waited for the okra to arrive in order to ask for hot fries, but it took another 10-15 minutes for it to be delivered, & the toddlers were done & tired. The fried okra was unusually disappointing because it was clumped together in groups of 3-6 pieces which looked more like a flower instead of individual pieces of fried okray, & they weren't hot. I grabbed boxes to pack up our food & left. My husband reminded me that we used to eat here after church at least once a month but stopped because of problems like this when it was just the 2 of us. I looked back & realized that I hadn't been there since before October...so, at least 5 months. It may be at least that long in not longer before we eat here again. Read moreWhat is going on at Slims - Cabot? This location is ALWAYS a hit or miss. We’ve been coming to this location since launch, and it is never the same experience. Some days the wait is EXTREMELY slow (more to come from today’s experience [09/28/2021]). Other days you can order and it will be ready for you before you finish filling up your drink. The days that it is moving fast, there is always a manager there actually managing. The days that it is slow? You guessed it, not a manager in sight.
Today’s experience: Mobile order placed at 5:15PM for CURBSIDE … Arrived at Slims at 5:32PM as it said would be ready by 5:30PM … Waited until 5:40PM before going in … WAITED IN STORE until 5:55PM before receiving food …
While inside waiting, a woman wearing a blue collared shirt (assuming she was in some managerial position) came from the back CRYING. I understand there may be some bad days, but you gotta keep emotions at the door.
When I finally got the food, a family who was already at the counter when I walked in (So waiting AT LEAST 15 minutes) asked the cashier “are we going to get to order?”
A patron SHOULD NOT have to ask if they can order at an establishment such as yours.
Wait times should not be all over the place if employees are not actively being managed.
This store has been open almost 3 months. Look at your reviews. That should tell you something. Take initiative and do something about it.

Read moreI had high hopes for my visit to Slim Chicken, especially after seeing a deal on their app. Unfortunately, my first experience was disappointing. The food was served cold and undercooked, with the chicken showing signs of being improperly prepared. Something like that could have caused food poisoning. I immediately trashed it. What a waste of money!
Hoping for a better outcome on my second visit, I wanted to request that the wings be cooked longer to avoid the issues I had before. However, I found that there was no option to add special requests through the app. When I arrived at the drive-thru, I asked the staff if they could cook my meal a little longer. The response I received was that they couldn't accommodate my request, and I was told that the chicken was already done, which didn't seem accurate because I ended up waiting around 10-12 minutes for my order.
In addition to the food issues, I found the service to be slow every time I’ve visited and the staff there are rude. Given that feeding a family of three at Slim Chicken is not inexpensive, it was disappointing to encounter these issues. The one highlight was the cheesecake jar, which, while delicious, is not something they make in-store.
