Grace at guest services was an absolute delight when I checked in. After a long tiring drive, her polite sense of humor was refreshing and incredibly welcoming. Room is nice and comfortable. Bed is comfy but pillows leave a bit to be desired (but I'm spoiled by really good pillows at home). Internet was easy to connect as a returning IHG status holder. However, speeds are a bit slow. 9-10 Mbps download. It blows my mind that here in 2025 when 1-2 Gbps connections are available fairly commonly, most hotels rarely break 10 Mbps. As someone who travels frequently for work and easy gets stuck working from a hotel room, my biggest suggestion to Holiday Inn Express is to upgrade Internet service availability. My only other gripe and its a small one is the power strip at the desk is tied to one of the light switches near the door. I had my laptop plugged in there and had turned off the aforementioned switch. While trying to relax for the evening and watching YouTube, my laptop suddenly and unexpectedly died. Small annoyance but still worth mentioning. Overall I've been very pleased with my stay here the Cabot location. There are plenty of restaurant choices nearby and the hotel is pretty easy to get to. If working in the area again, I would...
Read moreA group of rooms were booked for team tournament with confirmation numbers. Check-in was a nightmare! Half the bookings were cancelled or modified unbeknownst to any of the parents who were booked to the rooms. Hotel staff blamed corporate and/or the internet for the reason the rooms were cancelled and said the confirmation number doesn't mean anything. Albeit the rooms were booked thru the front desk at hotel via phone and confirmation emails were received for the bookings. Several parents had to make impromptu arrangements after a long drive to find rooms. Hotel was overbooked. Hours of time were wasted among parents to find lodging. To add insult to injury, all the parents who had unexplainable cancelled rooms were also charged for their stay because their CC was on record. Breakfast on weekend is from 7 AM to 10 AM. With an overbooked hotel, most breakfast items were gone before 8 AM and not replenished. Items that were replenished were done very slowly leading to many upset guests. No concessions to the hotel rate were offered for all the troubles the team incurred. While the rooms were clean, I attribute this to being new. The customer service was a terrible experience. Consider other accommodations if you want certainty in...
Read moreHubby and I are staying here right now because our floors are being redone. This property is top notch! Spacious rooms, excellent breakfast, friendly and attentive staff. We were practically homeless while work was being done to our house. We knew that check-in time was 3:00 but the manager allowed us to check in at noon because of our situation. The one thing that makes this property stand out, at least for me, are the night lights. There is a night light in the bathroom as well as one in the sleeping area. Staying somewhere unfamiliar can be troublesome if you wake up in the middle of the night and need to pee. These night lights provide just enough light to find your way to the bathroom safely without bothering your sleep. I’ve traveled a lot and stayed in hundreds of motels, but this is the first time a property had night lights in the rooms. The only negative comment I have is that the shower/tub does not have grab bars, and the tub floors are rather slick. This small detail was not enough to give this property anything less...
