For all the hype, all the good ratings, and the 4.8 stars from 117 reviews, ive gotta say we were very very disappointed. The food: it was not bad. But. It wasnt great. There was no wow factor. It was just decent food, for a price way too expensive. Decent food should be priced accordingly. We had an omelette, a kid size pancakes, and a turkey club. The omelette could have been fluffier, and the toppings should have been cooked a little bit more. The sandwich was not proportionate. There was SO MUCH turkey, a tomato slice, a stack of cucumber slices, greens, and the bread. The hops mayo was very good, we'll give them that. The pancakes has chocolate chips, and those were good. Fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth, chocolate in every bite. The coffee: decent, slightly better than regular gas station coffee. I drink my coffee black, but i had to add milk to this coffee because it was much too acidic. It could be good coffee, just mayhe with a few changes. The price: too big. They charge olive garden prices for burger king quality. $30 for breakfast for two? Thats a bit much. If the food was AMAZING, we wouldn't have minded paying. But again, it was mediocre. The place: not as clean as it seems. The employees seem to care juuust not enough. Wiping crumbs onto the floor is a very good way to invite pests. Kitchen cleanliness should be a top priority, not a second thought. Clean rags should be everywhere, right? The griddle should be wiped with a clean rag, not one that can use a wash. The whole place is a bit trendy/hipster. They bring your silverware in a mason jar =) The decor is nice, but some of the chairs can use a fix.
Conclusion: overly glorified cafe. Quaint and cozy,...
Read moreThis was my email to the establishment shortly after 12:00pm today (8/30/25). Allergies and food sensitivities should be taken very seriously at any food service place.
To whomever this may concern, I wanted to express dissatisfaction with the service that my boyfriend and I received at Morgantown Coffee House.
We were very excited to try this place after seeing how busy and popular it is whenever we drive by. I ordered a small blueberry matcha and it is very good, however my boyfriend ordered a large oatmilk latte with pumpkin spice flavor.
We received two small drinks and I politely told the barista that he had ordered a large drink. She took the drink back and he watched her pour the drink into a large cup and only add whole milk to it.
He did not tell me this until after we left, because he is not one to make a scene. I however, find this unacceptable to mix up milks, especially on the clearly labeled original small cup. There was not a long line or a ton of people waiting, and if there was, this mistake would have been more excusable. Adding an inch of milk to the drink made an eight dollar drink unenjoyable. I understand that an iced latte has a lot of milk to begin with, but at this point all flavor and coffee taste was gone.
I wanted to bring this to your attention as this barista was dismissive and ultimately left us with a bad first experience. My boyfriend is a people pleaser and did not want to complain, but if we are paying for a service, I would hope to receive respect and to walk out with a good beverage. He is lactose intolerant and this is a clear issue, especially for those with...
Read moreA friend and I stopped in for lunch yesterday after antiquing in the area and we were so delighted with this eatery. The food was delicious and the serving sizes were huge. The soup and half sandwich filled us up for the two hour trip back to the NYC area. The mushroom bisque was unlike any soup we had ever tasted. Amazing. The coffeehouse partners with local growers so all ingredients are fresh. David, the owner, is full of energy and has such a great personality. Truly admirable. We heard him greet every person as they walked in during our stay...and there were many...and when he had a spare moment from taking orders or making a special coffee order, he came out to clear tables and chat with customers. He has created a terrific business model and you just get the feeling that everyone he has hired loves to work there. The coffeehouse has a metropolitan vibe with its modern furniture and chalkboard decor but the large windows overlooking the bucolic farmland remind you that you have just taken a one day vacation from the NYC suburbs. You can be sure the Morgantown coffeehouse will be our go to place when we visit the...
