La Michoacana Restaurant — Restaurant in Caldwell

Was not impressed! I ordered two burritos, the menu said they were 6.99, when she ran out card, the total said 8.42 I didn't think that was correct, but none of them spoke any English, so I went to run out card, and their machine froze up, so I went and got 20 dollars from my mom, and then she wrote on a piece of paper that my total was 27.53, I downloaded a translator app on my phone, and I asked her how my total went from being 8.42 to 27.53, when the menu said it was only 6.99 then she grabbed a menu, and pointed to a dinner, that said it was 11.99 I'm all even at 11.99, with tax it still doesn't add up to 27.53 then she made a phone call we settled on the 20 I had, then I went to take a bite of my burrito, and it was all I could to to keep from throwing up! It was absolutely disgusting! I had the one bite, and threw it out! Definitely would not recommend going their!...

This restaurant is one of the good ones. First you get a basket of chips with a small side of salsa(very spicy but good) and a side of beans dip AUTHENTIC food, handmade tortillas and big portions. If you ever order the Tilapia plate, be aware that it is HUGE!!! so you will either need to have a good appetite or share it with another person. They have Horchata(with a hint of cinnamon on top), Jamaica(Hibiscus) and Tamarindo. It's summer and the heat is not your best friend right now so don't expect AC at full blast here since it is a small business. They do have a fan at full blast but if you are not able to handle the heat, I'd suggest you get your food to go. Either way the food is delicious and well seasoned. A very terrible experience. Went for lunch and ordered 2 plates with chicken, rice, and beans. The menu said 13.99. Then upon check out she explained the prices on the menu are not the actual prices. She said when she saw us she did not think the price would matter, that if she sees people looking at the prices she lets them know. She said the prices were increased by 1.00 but we were charged 40.26. So even at 15 a plate that would be 30. We did have a coconut water in a can and a bottle of water. Then when we had to rush around because we only had 40 cash and got a dollar in quarters the waitress teased me that I only left a dollar tip. Uncomfortable and...
