A-Gem Supply — Local services in Caldwell

One of my favorite stores of all time! If you're one of the many people who miss Radio Shack then you've never been to A Gem supply. They have anything and everything that you would need to upgrade, alter, adapt, prototype and build anything electronic. The staff are well educated and know what they are doing. I have had countless questions answered by them and they will always have my business. They had all the capacitors, resistors, headers and IC components I needed to chip all the Honda ECU's that I build for local car enthusiasts. Before I was forced to go online to Amazon or EBay and buy bulk components then wait for weeks while I hoped they would even show up. Now I go to A Gem supply and purchase the exact quantity needed and within the day I have a customers ECU back to them chipped and loaded with a base map of their choice. And if like me your into electronic prototyping i.e. With Arduino, raspberry pie, etc. then you'll hit the jackpot when you visit A Gem supply! No mattter what the project you have they will have the parts or they can order them. Buy local! Support this business! I've worked all around the northwest United States installing custom industrial back up and emergency power supply units (really expensive diesel generators) and I have had to find a local electronics suppliers such as A Gem supply numerous times. If I'm lucky enough to locate a business that deals in electronic components they often fall short of what I need and it's only on rare occasion that they even compare to A Gem supply. Truly a diamond...

This store was awesome! They have every electronic component you could think of. I went in to find a piece to jimmyrig an electronic doorbell from 1991. While they were looking at the big electronic piece I was trying to fix, he said, "hold on, I think I might have this piece in the back." He disappeared into the back room and a few minutes late came out with not only a fix but the entire doorbell from 1991. THE EXACT SAME PART I NEEDED. How he ever remembered he had a part in the back that was almost 30 years old is amazing to me. He also told me how to put it back together and checked it out before he sold it to me. This was EXCELLENT customer service and I can't wait to go back in. I think his name was Alan and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND him and A Gem Supply Co...

These guys are great at helping me find what I need. They are what RadioShack should have been/once was, in regards to electronic components and merchandise. Alan is very knowledgeable about just about everything in the store and can help you out on projects. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is due to the lack of organization in the store, it's pretty messy and the aisles/shelves aren't really labeled, so if you're looking for something in particular then it can be a challenge to find it without asking...
