Indian Creek Museum — Attraction in Caldwell

This is the kind of museum I enjoy. There were a lot of local business history as well as family and household items. The kind of things that you might find if you are trying to research your family or community history. This is not the themed type of museum where you feel like those running the museum are trying to teach history from their perspective and in the process removing all the individuality of each item's history and of the item's owners. What a surprise find right in downtown Caldwell! This museum was an old doctor's office, then a dentist office. Lots of collections displayed from the dentist's wife, a collector. Such a large amount of items displayed in multiple rooms. I only took a few pictures but there were several rooms. The tour is included in the low price and items were pointed out in each room and often connected to local history. This is a must when visiting Caldwell or the Boise...

Wow 30 rooms stuffed with local history. Each room has a general theme but sometimes overwhelm visual senses. They need greater focus on local history and not just display of stuff given. For example, why are there 20+ typewriters? They have an ice saw and equipment to move ice so where was the ice house and ice pond?
