THIS is the local butcher shop you were looking for. It’s not just a meat market like almost all of the rest. This is the real deal. You want a whole pig? A special cut? We’ve looked EVERYWHERE trying to find pork with the skin on and it turn out that the big distributors sell the skins to the football factories because they pay more! Well…my search finally came to a happy ending when I found Mi Tierra (my land). The store is well set up and their meat selection is great! At least for beef, pork and chicken. I ate in the restaurant area of the carneceria/market. Pretty good great tasting dish that I had(costillas de Puerto, which I also call chili verde). Probably the best I have had here in the treasure valley. They are accompanied by home/ freshly made white corn torillas...careful you'll get addicted to those tor til las! Service is nice. We found this spot via Facebook when someone asked about who has the best best tamales. I went Thursday and bought a dozen uncooked frozen to bring home for Christmas day. Just finished them, and they are absolutely the best I've had, and I'm from So. Cal. I've had great tamales before, but these are the bomb! Cooked them in the oven at 350 for 70 minutes (from frozen), and they were perfect. A+ to...
