I am giving this one star review because on December 6th I had my worst customer service experience ever at Indian Creek Skating Ribbon! I am shocked my the lack of kindness and professionalism from the management.
We had skating on our bucket list of special things to do with our children this year, we were all so excited to go. We arrived and paid $45 for our family to skate and after only being on the rink for 20-25 minutes our wristband color was called and we were told our time was done. We were so shocked we got such little time and weren't told anything about this when we bought our tickets.
Went to the front and we were told you get an hour time slot session and I told her we didn't even get 30 minutes. She told me if it's close to 30 minutes she always tells customers, she absolutely didn't tell us!! We would have just waited for the nest time slot if we knew.
Went and looked and our bank account to see what time we paid and it was at 3:59 and we were told to be off the rink at 4:30. So we had 31 minutes to get a family of 6 skates, put them on and go skate. If we knew our time was so limited we could have rushed onto the rink or waited for next session. The signs say nothing about any of this. So we went to find the manager and she would not listen, she talked over us and was incredibly rude. I have never experienced such a rude manager in all my life. She just talked over me and kept telling me that facebook told the rules and that they are always very vocal about your time slot (they said nothing to us at all.) She said they were working on getting signage out front so people were aware, but this did us no good at that point.
She wouldn't allow our children back on the rink and just kept explaining how her staff told us about this, which is not true at all. She finally offered to give us 2 free passes to come back another time, but we drove 30 minutes to get there with a family of 6 so this did us no good.
In the end this staff needs some retraining on customer service! What was suppose to be a great Christmas experience was such a let down. $45 for less than 25 minutes skating is crazy!! And if this is the rule your staff failed to tell us this, and then wouldn't even admit they made a mistake and failed to inform us. The staff never apologized and admitted that they made a mistake. They just acted as though I was a crazy mom for wanting my children to get the full experience.
This would have been such a magical experience for our children. One of which is special needs and was very sad to be...

I recently visited the plaza just prior to Christmas and have to say I was a little disappointed with how rude some of the employees were that work maintaining the Christmas lights and heaters near the ice rink. It was an extremely cold night and while up on the stage I tried to warm up a little but noticed the only portable heaters on were the one next to the small vendor stand selling drinks on stage. Three employees were standing there when Inquired about igniting another portable heater to which It was said they didn't have the keys to ignite them.
Upon inquiring further the reason then changed to there weren't enough people to warrant igniting any more portable heaters.
I asked who I could contact in order to address this to which I was given a rude arrogant response by a male employee (Dan) that honestly didn't make any sense at all.
In years past Indian Creek plaza had plenty heaters ignited for people visiting the plaza to gather and warm up at. I'm hard pressed to believe it's the management and or city making these decisions rather then a few employees who have some power and control issues.
I wasn't the only one seeking warmth from a heater that night but also a few families with small children and some elderly couples who also requested ignition of the heaters from the same employees.
I truly enjoy frequenting Indian Creek plaza and will continue to do so. I just hope issues like these are resolved wether it be employee related or not. But for now I'll have to rate it a three star due to a few employees truly lacking on friendliness / rude customer service related issues.
Downtown Caldwell has a great start in becoming a good healthy fun spot for families to enjoy an evening together.
With lots of new eateries opening, the choice of food being served up is delicious.
Don't forget the dessert! Or if mom and dad want to get the kids out the house after dinner, there's also an ice cream shop, candy store and many other business you can grab a cookie and go.
It definitely an exciting time for downtown Caldwell, with many of the buildings being renovated, its only a matter of time before downtown...
Read moreMe and my family have visited Indian Creek Plaza several times and have enjoyed the experience in every season. However, last Saturday night we went down to enjoy the ice skating and there was a private fundraiser. I thought that it was great and I was happy to wait until the ice ribbon opened to the public. While waiting I witnessed several people climbing over the barriers that were up in order to get to the business that were right there. The reason for the 3 stars is the following. The local shops are the ones that support the plaza through leased space. In turn the public supports the businesses. If you block off those businesses with barricades during the busy events how are they supposed to make any money. This also brings up the safety issue of people climbing over barricades I watched more than a few people fall and almost crack their head open. Wouldn’t it be a win/win and save money to take the barricades down or at the very least create openings parallel with the entrances of the local businesses? It seemed very cumbersome to the natural flow of foot traffic and ill planned. I also understand the need for the private events as they are also a source of revenue. This could be solved with simply requiring a ticket or wristband eliminating the need for costly barricades. Please know this review comes from wanting to see the plaza improved, and be the best it can be. Feel free to contact me for...
