I have been coming here for more than 15 years. I don't know how many more but I have a picture of my son with a handful of Cesar's spaghetti in his hands (and all over his head) from 15 years ago and the place wasn't new to us then.
This is good old fashioned fried chicken. The breading is thin and crispy and clings well to the chicken (doesn't all come off with your first bite), it is seasoned and has a richness of flavor I don't usually find in fried chicken. They have multiple packaged arrangements and will do things not listed on the menu (like just a pile of whole fried chicken wings for my son).
This stuff is so good that I eat it for dinner hot and fresh, then I have it cold for lunch the next day, and then separate out the bones and warm up the remaining meat in the oven and use it to make fried chicken and waffles. Three days, three meals, and I would have had a fourth without complaint if I'd not run out of chicken.
This is not a place to eat in, there are only a couple of tables and then seating for people waiting for their orders. The only thing they serve that I'm not a fan of us their spaghetti and meat-sauce, but I'm particular about my red sauces.
Don't leave the food in the boxes for long, the boxes are waxed internally and the heat will make any of the breading get soggy with condensation...
Read moreNothing special, unfortunately. I stopped in for a lunch and had the two-piece snack (leg & thigh) w/fries (for $6.72). While the chicken was fresh, I've had much better chicken at Popeyes & Churchs (not KFC - whose chicken has deteriorated to downright terrible). The fries were extremely greasy. While they were hot, they didn't have much taste. I suspect the fries and chicken were fried in the same oil?
Their prices have gone way up too. (I used to visit when they were located in SL many years ago (their pricing was much better then). Even their soft drinks (coke) are $1.50 & tax. They must do a lot of catering. As most of their counter menu is for large takeout orders (and they price accordingly). Regular lunch/dinner meals are prohibitively expensive (you're much better off eating at Popeyes/Churchs and their chicken is better too).
It's a shame because they catered to everyone in their previous location. Not just folks coming in and spending over $20 on chicken. I won't return, they are much better/tastier/cheaper alternatives for...
Read moreWhile this chicken didn't have all the seasonings I love, everything else was prepared with care, expertise and served in a warm, personal, friendly manner in a spotlessly clean, simple-store-because-the-chicken-is-the-star kind've place.
With KFC quality as varied as the map, and El Pollo Loco too far away, this place is worth it in almost every sense you can qualify.

The place has really gone down in quality since changing owners, and I simply can no longer recommend this place to anyone. The experiences I have had since I wrote the original review are to be kind, 'cheap and typical' corner cutting, quality cutting and arm's distance service.
I've fortunately found a new place for my chicken craving.
The...
