Driving along the Rugged Gold Coast of Oregon and California is a treat that everyone needs to experience. Sometimes stopping at a beach or park takes longer than expected, delaying a traveller’s schedule. This is what happened to us and fortunately, in our case, we arrived at a place where Fisherman’s became our friend. They were one of very few restaurants open late , allowing us partake in local fare. Our arrival at Fisherman’s was timely and fortunate as they were near closing. We were quickly and politely brought our menus and asked what we wanted to drink. Our drinks were brought out while we were choosing. My wife opted for a beef dip and I chose the club sandwich. It didn’t take long before they came to us and that was a good thing as we were on the verge of “hangryness”. The beef dip sandwich was below par. The bread was tasty but it had only one slice of beef in it and although the gravy was also good, the quantity or quality did not reflect the price. It came with a side of coleslaw which was nice. It was cold and sweet the perfect amount of crunch! The triple-decker Club Sandwich on the other hand was as good as they come! All meats were flavourful and veggies extremely fresh! The tater tots were a treat. It’s been at least five years since I’d had tater tots and these were fried to perfection! A different and perfect addition to the sandwich. The staff, especially our server was very friendly, helpful, polite and provided overall great service. We ended up being the last ones there and never felt rushed. The restaurant was clean and bright and displayed local decor. I’d like to go back and try their chowders and have another club.

I was very doubtful about this place, thought it was just a tourist trap and probably didn't make anything fresh... I was wrong! It was busy when we stopped for lunch but surprisingly there was a good amount of seating available, all social distanced. The clam chowder was homemade, hot and very good on the cool/misty day we visited. The sourdough bread bowl was great too. Ordered a couple seafood combo plates and some fried shrimp. Too much fried food but that's our fault. The French fries were also good! The prawns and cod were juicy and excellent. The clam fingers or sticks were not. Please add real whole clams to your menu. Nice wait staff. Clean bathroom. Next time we will order a combo plate to share, we enjoyed it but a little fried food goes a long ways. When will we ever lean? Breakfast served until 2pm and it looked good! I wonder if they do a seafood Benedict? Now I'm hungry again. Enjoy!

I don't think I've ever been to this little restaurant, but I like to try the fish and chips at different places in CC. Crescent City is the spot! The Fisherman's batter and fry Cod in thick strips and pair it with fries or tater tots. I love it! It was not greasy, like some fish and chips can be and was delicious! I had tots and they were pretty crunchy. Their coleslaw is about a 8, just a little sweet and tangy, but a tad mayonnaise-y. Meh. Coleslaw is always hit and miss with me, but it passed 😁 The tartar was nothin to shout about, but it worked. They have a bunch of souvenir stands to get Crescent City memorabilia. They also had a dessert case and I had a pretty good-sized cinnamon roll. I picked the cinnamon roll because it wasn't slathered with a whole lot of nasty frosting all over it. It was very good. The ladies behind the counter were super nice and I think I will go back soon

Visited on 7/19/20 evening with my husband, my sister and her family, and my mom for a seafood dinner after a day in the redwood forest. Upon arrival we seated ourselves outside per instructions of the blackboard in front of the restaurant. We waited for quite a while before anyone came to take our drink orders and I noticed that even though they were not serving indoors due to the pandemic that all the staff seemed to be hanging out inside while all the customers were outside. We had several problems with the service and our food. My sister inquired about the calamari strips and was served something that not only did not match the description she was given but looked absolutely disgusting. It was not breaded properly, had a slimy texture and was rubbery. She could not eat it and I didn't blame her. She gave the meal back to the waitress who then acted like she was doing us a huge favor by taking the cost of the meal off of her check except for the side salad since it was the one thing that was eaten. Then she over charged for the kids meal. We requested the kids pancake meal and to substitute the sides that came with it for a side of fries. Instead she was charged the full price of the kids meal PLUS $5 and some change for a side of fries. When we tried to ask why she had double charged the waitress practically snatched the check and the payment from my sister before she had even finished explaining the issue and said "I'll take more off and be back" when she returned she started "explaining" what she had done to correct the check to which my mom and myself had to tell her that she didn't need to have an attitude. Apparently this comment flustered the waitress who then dissapeared into the resturant never to be seen again meanwhile she still had 2 other payments that needed to be collected from the table. Finally, tired of waiting, my sister stepped inside the restaurant to announce that if they wanted to be paid for the other meals we had ordered that someone needed to come and collect our payments. We then had a different employee (maybe the manager?)come out to ask what the problem was. When we tried to explain the issues we had encountered she then also became defensive and rude and kept saying over and over again "I'm just trying to help" meanwhile having made zero attempt to rectify the situation. Once she returned from processing our final payments I then explained to her that while we understand we are in the middle of a pandemic and that the service industry is trying to figure out how to run smoothly with all these new restrictions there is no excuse for the waitstaff to be rude to customers because that is not a pandemic issue that is an attitude problem. To which the waitress responded "we have lots of good reviews so I dont know why you are still standing here arguing now that you've paid". I'm sure all the good reviews are either paid for or from friends and family of the wait staff. Needless to say we will NEVER eat here again and DO NOT recomend this...

I just want to start with saying I have no idea how this place has the reviews it does. We're visiting from out of town and went based off the reviews. We haven't had the local fish before because it's not offered in our area, when we asked about the different fish and mention we were from out of town the servers attitude immediately changed to annoyed/bothered that we were even asking. We decided to start with the oysters. We love oysters and are always ready to try different kinds. But we were not ready for what we were about to experience. The oysters were least 4 times the size of any oyster I've ever had and came in a fake metal shell. Bizarre. The cocktail sauce was also abnormally sweet. Do not get the oysters, we asked what kind of oysters they were and had never heard of them, we google what our server told us and couldn't find them. Now the clam chowder, my girlfriend almost threw up, (possibly from the oysters) it was salty and very thick. When our fish came out it was just mediocre for the price, I spend 30 dollars on a meal and expect to get fresh food, well cooked, that taste delicious. Not something that is lackluster and if anything leaves me upset that I got it. Overall it isn't the food that makes the biggest difference, it's the customer service. Working in the restaurant industry myself, I know most of the time a bad experience with food can be remedied by a good server with good customer service. But when they act like they don't like you from the beginning and the food isn't good you end up with...
