Um. I don't like to do this sort of thing. But I want to help. First, the order on the phone was rushed. which isnt bad but I had to ask him to repeat my order so I knew he got it right. He talked so fast through the order I was worried maybe he didn't hear all that I said. So that's not that big of a complaint...the guy who delivered my pizza was nice so that's good too. My overall feeling is just that the pizza is just not good. Here are my suggestions: 1. Get rid of the whole wheat crust. I mean who does that? Give me the good stuff, good old fashioned pizza doe, that will make me feel so guilty the next day that I do 1000 sit ups. Maybe go back to the drawing board and develop a new recipe that includes some seasoning, or flavor, or salt. 2. When I pay extra for toppings...maybe the guy making the pie can be a little bit more generous. The slices of onion and bell pepper we're so thin and so few that I could of just had a cheese pizza and save some doe. 3. Something about the cheese....too much for one..not a good blend maybe? Maybe it's a bad brand of cheese. 4. The sauce...I couldn't tell at first if it was even there...so maybe add more or maybe it just had no flavor. 5. My opinion of a good deep dish is a pizza with thicker crust that has a little crunchy crispieness to it and not some thin pizza where the crust was just pushed up against the sides of the deep dish pan. Make the overall pizza a little thicker if it's gonna be dubbed "deep dish". There was also way too much leftover flour all over the crust and bottom of the pizza. It made the pizza really dry. Hope this helps. Sorry if i sound rude. Overall the pizza tasted like a giant floppy cracker with melted cheese. I was really disappointed cause I love pizza but I only let myself have it...
Read moreWhen I first had Fresh Brothers pizza they had just opened their third location. At the time the sauce was very good the cheese was excellent and the crust was very acceptable. In the many years since they have grown to be a larger company with many locations. In the process the pizza has suffered terribly. The sauce has become a disgusting and 'sweet' atrocity that is worse than jarred grocery store sauce. The cheese which used to be outstanding is now a nearly flavorless goo. And now the final blow which prompted me to write this review is the disaster they offer as 'Chicago-style' deep dish. This is a total failure. I had already lowered the bar knowing it would not be near what I am used to from my many trips to the windy city but truth told I was shocked how bad it was. A total waste of time and money. I know it can be done better since there is one place in south bay that does a very reasonable job. Fresh Brothers used to be a good pizza option but over the years it has deteriorated into the worst possible version of itself. Sadly, they have not lowered their prices so what used to be a some what premium price is now totally unjustified. Wish I didn't have to write this but since I was a loyal customer for over a decade I...
Read moreThe Fresh Brothers in Marina Del Rey has plenty of free parking in the lot, and they have a good amount of seating if you want to eat your pizza there.
For soft drinks, they have the Coca Cola freestyle touch-screen machine, and I went with the AHA 50-50 split between plain and lemon. Marc was friendly and pointed out that the AHAs are their most popular sodas.
A personal 7” pizza has 4 slices and it’s intended for just one person. If you’re lactose intolerant, they have Daiya vegan mozzarella cheese that can be substituted for any pizza. The cauliflower gluten free crust and vegan cheese were both so well done that I almost thought they were the real thing! The BBQ Chicken pizza has grilled chicken breasts with a very sweet BBQ sauce and raw red onions that get baked. The cauliflower crust has a little cheese in it, and the other gluten free crust is fully vegan.
The Vegan Cobb Salad has crisp romaine lettuce, farro and red rice ancient grains, fresh Hass avocado chunks, crispy chickpeas, roasted cherry tomatoes, artichokes, and red beets, with a white balsamic vinaigrette on the side. The farro is the bacon replacement, and although I missed the egg, it’s a great option if you’re vegan or trying to go more...
