Just left the Marina Del Rey store and just had to voice my concern over the food quality. They opened 20 minutes late and it was obvious the reason had something to do with the staffing and preparedness in opening. I was the second customer in line and the food looked as if it had been pulled from the refrigerator and placed out for sale. No meat was cooking on the stoves which were littered with used pots and pans. All the food on the line looked old and reheated. The chicken looked so dark I thought it was steak. After leaving the store I ate a bite of taco and the chicken was cold, hard, and tasted awful. I called to voice my concern and the manager seemed less than concerned and I could hear the girl who answered the phone laughing as if they were both unsurprised by my call. I asked him if the food had been rewarmed from the night before, to which he claimed it had “just been cooked”. When I told him there had been no food grilling and that the stoves didn’t even appear to be turned on, he ceased claiming the food had just been cooked and offered to “remake” the food for me. Told him I’d already left and didn’t have an interest in eating there anymore. He left the offer open for me to return, but now I’m wondering if the food was even safe for consumption given the totality of the experience. He said his name was Carlos. Really hope I don’t get...
Read moreAs I was placing my order w/ the guy, asking for a Veggie bowl with 2 vinegarettes, alil brown rice, more black beans, he just left & went to the back.. The Lady at the register came to do my order, I repeated what I wanted, she proceeded to put white rice which I had to say no, I want brown rice.. She looked irritated at me, then kept asking what meat? I said no meat.. got down to the rest, I just asked for pico, sour cream, guac and lettuce. She started grabbing the cheese I said no I don't want cheese.. She got even more upset. Then at register, she said chicken bowl, I said no it's a veggie bowl. Then she looked at me as of I was lying, I said can I have the smallest chips also. As she continued to look confused, I asked her if she remember the brown rice & black beans veggie bowl, she ignored me.. I had to ask her 3 times, then she just went to the register, I put my card in, she walked away to help someone else without giving me my chips or letting me know my order was done, I was really confused and it was embarrassing.. I said hey, you forgot my chips, am I done? She gave them to me and said yea, you're done.. I haven't been to this location in months but I might not ever come back.. That was just unacceptable and uncalled for behavior. I remained pleasant the whole time but how rude. Also, all the tables were very unclean... I am nor happy with my...
Read moreI recently visited the Chipotle in Marina del Rey, and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. I ordered a Sofritas Bowl but was mistakenly given a Veggie Bowl instead. Realizing the error after a few minutes (and before taking a single bite), I approached the staff to request a simple exchange for what I had originally ordered.
This is where things took a turn for the worse. The so-called manager, Cesar, was incredibly inaccessible and unhelpful. Instead of acknowledging the mistake and correcting it, he demanded that I pay an additional $4 to get the Sofritas on the side, despite the fact that the error was on their end. When I pointed out that this was the server’s mistake, Cesar became rude and dismissive, making the entire situation unnecessarily difficult.
After standing my ground as a paying customer, Cesar finally relented and provided the Sofritas side. To “compensate” for the situation, he offered me the food for free, which was headed for the trash anyway as he said. This gesture felt more like a begrudging afterthought than genuine customer service.
Overall, this experience left a sour taste in my mouth, both literally and figuratively. I would have expected much better service and accountability from a manager, especially at a location like Marina del Rey. I’m not sure if I’ll be returning...
