My husband and myself just moved to the area and we have been exploring different dinner options. We decided to try Joon's. When we entered it was ok, not bad but a little dark. There were a couple of screaming children, which happens, I understand kids have to eat too. We ordered a few rolls, and soup. Service was very pleasant. Menu did not have description of the food. I like sushi but I don't know what is in every roll off the top of my head. The rolls came over at lightning speed. Usually this is a good thing but the sushi seemed like it may have been prepared earlier, the rice wasn't too sticky and was in a square shape not round. The rainbow rolls tasted ok, not bad but not great. We had the Joon's special, it was decent but completely drenched in many sauces, it was really good the first couple of bites, but became overwhelming after a while. The caterpillar roll was not pleasant. It had a fishy after taste, which is not ok at a sushi restaurant. I had a couple of pieces thinking it was just my palette. I ate a bit of ginger and yet the next bite was just as fishy as the first. My husband who never wastes food, wouldn't even eat the last pieces. In regards to their all you can eat sushi they also had signs everywhere talking about how you will be charged if there are left overs or they will have to raise their all you can eat prices. I understand that businesses need to make money. However, things like that need to be strategized and calculated for behind closed doors, it just looks unprofessional in my opinion. Anywho, we are all free to make our own choices and your experience may be different than ours. However, we won't be...
Read moreThis sushi place in Temecula is the best for good quality all you can eat. Generally, when you do an all you can eat, you can expect quality to be a little less than the quality of the pay to play per piece sushi restaurants. However, Joons breaks that norm by providing quality sushi, a wide variety, a generous amount of fish for a reasonable price. If you are looking to max your dollar and your fish consumption go to Joons. You will eat a lot more at the same price that you would at one of the hoity-toity places.
The selection at the sushi place is absolutely astounding. For the all you can eat for $25.99, you can eat almost every role. My favorite rolls are the ones that are baked with cheese on the top. There's also something called the flower girl, which is literally just crab wrapped around by a delicious piece of salmon.
Not only is the food really quality, but the place itself is quite nice. Not too large, the ambience is quite coming. What's even better is that they sell their own shirts for a very cheap price if you want to represent...
Read moreWell, the sushi wasn't as good as the previous reviews mentioned. I dont know if they were having an off day with the cooks on hand but the rolls we ordered were made kinda sloppy. Not all but most of them were. The sticky rice on our sashimi was kinda warm and overcooked that the fish ended up being warm in the middle and didnt taste right. I'm used to colder sashimi unless it's eel...maybe the rice was just cooked when he made it but most of the fish we had wasn't fresh....the portions were ok but again the rolls we had were made very sloppy. The muscles we ordered at the first round didnt arrive until our second round was ordered and arrived. And the salmon skin roll was so burnt in the middle that I had to force myself to finish it. Since they charge regular price for unfinished rolls. I hope they were just having an off day but after this experience I wont be going back...
