First off, understand that these days it's all about limiting staff costs and upping customer throughput... But this was to the max tonight. One lady, presumably the manager working the counter all by herself with two other employees devoted to the drive-thru. Kiosks were the only way of ordering... And one gentleman, older like in his 60's was having a little bit of trouble getting used to the kiosk. No human interaction... Ordered one cup of coffee, 20+ minutes to get it. We were out with our order before he received his order so no clue how much longer it took but the manager behind the counter had the face of wanting to punch a baby out. Quick to drop an order off and even quicker to walk away. Lids weren't stocked so customers had to keep going back up and asking for one. I counted 3-4 times in the 25 minutes we were in there.
The machine has begun to work against itself for bettering human satisfaction, and instead instilled an abundance of impatient customers, and a lack of empathy from the employees. Noone is on anybody else's side anymore. And this is freaking McDonald's... Are they killing their M.O. or are they killing their employees with no care to the suffering trickled down to the customer?    Read moreFast food is supposed to be fast. Thatâs why you choose it over other places. We went on 7/5/21 to grab breakfast. When we arrived, the drive thru line was out onto the road. We decided to go inside to order, thinking it may be quicker. I went inside and all orders were being done on self-service touch screens. Some customers were frustrated because there was no one there to assist. There was one gentleman that would come out upon occasion but most people were left to fend for themselves.
Their service was very slow and the dining area filled with waiting customers. The gentleman who would come out upon occasion did make it a point to tell everyone they needed to socially distance, which was a problem their slow service was creating.
Because everyone ordered on self-serve kiosks there was no way to really get a refund. This forced all of us to wait for our food. I waited exactly 35 minutes from the time I placed my order til the time I received it.
After I received my food, I went outside to our vehicle and bumped into a friend. He went through the drive thru and waited just as long. I went around 8pm to get my son a happy meal and myself a coffee. 1st off I ordered a 4pc happy meal, they charged me for a 6pc also ordered 1 coffee but charged me for 2 and said they were unable to process a refund. I end up saying that's fine due to not wanting to hold up the line even tho I didn't need two coffees. Once I got to the next window I noticed 1 of the coffees had chocolate drizzle on it although I ordered caramel, I asked her if she could simply wipe it off and put caramel. Instantly she got upset told me "its just chocolate " I said I understand but its not what i ordered, she then with attitude told me to pull forward and pull to the side. I said it's okay ill wait since it should only take 2 seconds, its not like I asked her to remake the whole drink. She left and was very rude, I spoke with the manager about her behavior. The associate then came back with the drink and handed it to me very aggressively and began yelling at me. Therefore I was very upset!! I went to get my son a kids meal not to get disrespected.
