My husband and I just left this location. This was our first visit.
First Impression - We walked in and the host had literally just stepped away to seat someone, but that didn’t stop the customer service received from a man looking out from the kitchen area. He warmly greeted us with a smile and told us someone will be back to help us soon✅💚
Second Impression - The host comes back with a smile and a mask on and apologizes for us waiting and immediately seats us and asks if she can get us anything to drink while we wait on our waitress.✅💚
Third Impression - We waited about 5/6 min before our waitress came and introduced herself with a smile and asked if we were ready to order. Now some people dining in would probably find that wait ridiculous, but WE personally were just fine with this! Why? Because when I first sit down and you hand me a menu, I don’t want to feel like I’m being rushed to order in your restaurant for the first time🤷🏽♀️✅💚
KUDOS to Christine!!! She was a sweet waitress! She took our order and it was brought out about 15 min later by who appeared to be a kitchen manager, and he was very nice too!
Fourth and FINAL Impression - I ordered the cream cheese stuffed french toast covered in strawberries and blueberries, bacon, scrambled eggs, and a side of roasted potatoes. My husband ordered the bacon, ham, and sausage omelette with toast. You’ll see it all in the video and pictures.
The cream cheese filling in the french toast was supposed to be infused with orange marmalade, and it was, during the last 3 bites of my food. The rest of the filling was extremely bland and the only thing that made the french toast good was the sweet parts of the fruit on top. But honestly, this was a perfect dish for someone with diabetes or who is just not big on sugar. The bacon and eggs were PERFECT and so were the potatoes! You just have to season the eggs and potatoes to your liking.
My husband didn’t like his omelette at all. He said it was flavorless, eggs were hard, and the meat was stale. Almost giving it the taste of it being steamed dry.🤦🏽♀️😭😩
Overall verdict….I would come back and try something new, but he wouldn’t.
3/5 stars for the food isn’t too bad, but we have had better quality food for the price at other restaurants in town.
4/5 overall. We appreciated the customer service more...
Read moreWe placed an order online directly on the Mimi's website Elk Grove. It was to be delivered at 6:00 PM to our 92-year-old parents'. They no longer drive, and they like your restaurant and tonight they requested dinner from Mimi's. We live over 45 minutes away and we frequently order meals for them online from various restaurants without an issue.
At 6:20 this evening mom called to say the food had not arrived. We immediately called your Elk Grove store to inquire. The phone rang 20 times without an answer and then disconnected. We started to think maybe the location had closed like ours in Roseville. We called back and again it rang 20 times again and then disconnected. We waited a few minutes and called a third time and Karen answered and told us that you don't deliver, and you have to select Door Dash, or another delivery service and our food had been sitting there since 6:00. We explained the Mimis website does not give you that option and that our card had already been charged and we lived more than 45 miles away and were not able to get their timely to pick it up. She basically told us that yes, Mimi's website prompts you to select a delivery service, and that people have been picking up all night and then she hung up on us. I called back and again Karen answered and she said she has already credited our credit card and that she was too busy to help us, and she hung up again. WOW!
My husband then called the Arden Mimi's and spoke with Steven Sylvester. We were trying to figure out if we had done something wrong. Steven explained there must be a glitch with your website because that's not normal. He was very patient and understanding with us as we tried to explain the situation we had just gone through.
Apparently, Karen either doesn't like her job, or she was having an extremely bad day. In any event, we will never be back to Elk Grove Mimi's thanks to Karen - she...
Read moreDisapointed again!!!! Won't give it one star even!!!! Two days i went again to mimi's for breakfast thinking of giving it another shot. The plate i ordered included roasted potatoes. I believe i got someone else's potatoes left over for 2 reasons. First, the potatoes were very dry, hard, and cold compared to my son's potatoes which were hot and made fresh. Second, I found a quarter piece of bacon with the potatoes which is not supposed to be there based on the plate i ordered. I had to post a review because i am not used at such mistakes at mimi's. Hope they will fix it
My post below was a week ago
I am so disappointed last night. We were a group of 5 people but we got utensils for 3. First of all, we got our food 30 minutes after we ordered it. Second, the tomato soup of one person was spicy hot and she couldn't eat it. Third, another person plate looked soggy and unappealing. Fourth, the music got stuck in a repeating annoying sound but the staff were busy chatting and they didn't even hear it so it kept on going on. Fifth, they charged me for coffee and i didn't order coffee. Sixth, one person ordered coffee but the waitress forgot about it then remembered after 20 minutes. I would probably give them an excuse if they were busy but 90% of the tables were empty and that's why the waitress was able to sit on a booth socializing when we left. One more thing, the menu is changed. They took out some orders that i am used to as a regular customer. In addition, they raised the prices on the menu. The only good thing i liked my plate it was delicious. But i need to rethink the possibility of going there again. I might have to find another cafe wuth a good ambience where our group can enjoy their food and have good times like we used to at mimis...
