What a beaut! Within minutes of being in this place we had met the bartender and a handful of locals. Peach of place with cold drinks and tons of TVs. They are welcoming to everyone but prefer people with mustaches, so don’t be afraid. The people leaving one star reviews sound like a bunch professional keyboard warriors. Hopefully they don’t come back and ruin this cool bar. Erick from Kentucky

A chill spot in a chill town where everything seems to be cheaper, more natural, and more accessible. Tahoe City is awesome; Pete ‘n’ Peters embodies the place with local bar feel and regulars making it feel a bit different than the $10/craft pour spots all around the lake owned by hedge fund bros. The tacos are among the best I ever had at $3/pop. Worth a visit (from an East Coaster).

Best dive bar in Tahoe! Came here for a bachelorette and the bride was very happy here. We watched corgi racing and then people climbing up slippery steps on ESPN 8 which was fun. Gets crowded here but bartenders are great at getting to everyone. They also serve a wicked green tea shot.

A group of about 8 of us came into Pete and Peters late night last Sunday. There was 1 person in the bar. The bar was quiet; no music, no people. I brought in my battery powered Boombox, playing some funky fun music.

Basically, we brought the people, the party, and the music. Within seconds of entering the bar, the bartender rudely informed us that we must shut the music down stating that Pete and Peters is "under contract from Touch Tunes" (the jukebox company) and it is not allowed under any circumstances to play any other music due to this contract.

All I have to say is WHAT A BUZZ KILL. We weren't playing inappropriate music, we were the ONLY people in the bar (and ordering drinks) - and the bartender reduced the bar to the sound of crickets. This is the definition of being a stick in the mud! ONE STAR FOR VIBES. They get two stars because they have pool tables and shuffle board.

Instead we had to pay for expensive jukebox tunes (there isn't even ANY house music to fill the void of sound).

I understand that most of the time, this scenario (bringing music into the bar) isn't the most appropriate thing to do: but to kill the vibes of your ONLY customers because of some contract with a jukebox company is weak sauce and completely disconnected to the reality of the situation. Loosen up...

This is the best bar to go to in Tahoe City. I'm surprised to see all the negative reviews about the locals being rude or off putting but our experience was completely the opposite. I mean, we didn't try to take over the bar with our own music and expected to change the vibe. We drove by several times and the place was packed with tourist and locals alike. It seemed like an awesome atmosphere but I had left my wallet back at at the cabin so we ended up not going back. The next day we drove into the parking lot and there were less people but still pretty full and I regret not going in the first time! This place was fun, cozy, welcoming, and the drinks were strong! I highly recommend this bar for anyone who is looking for a fun night and willing to be respectful and appreciative of the local community. The local people here all know each other and that's what makes this...

I tried to like this place I really did, gave it a few chances til this last visit and won’t be going back. Came here on a Thursday night, ordered a round, shook off the bartenders coldness and went to the dart board for a few games. Went back for a second round, the bartenders were busy drinking with the other locals (almost everyone here is under 25) and ignored everyone else waiting to order. Got tired of waiting so when I finally got the attention of one of the drunk bartenders, he gave me my card but no receipt. When I asked him for one, he said he couldn’t find the sale in the system and not to worry about the charge. Sure enough a few days later there’s a charge on my card for who knows what since I got no receipt, and can only assume they gave themselves +20% in tip. Super lame, only stars given are for the dart board and...
