Wow. Not sure if the girl ringing me up was mistaken or outright lied. In any event, she was super rude.
I had come to this location 5 days earlier and ordered a veranda coffee. They didn't have any open so the person helping me walked over to the shelf in the store and opened a bag and proceeded to make me the veranda coffee.
Well... different reception today (11/19). The girl at the register told me she would not open a bag of veranda. I told her I had been to Starbucks all over the place, including this one, and when they don't have it, they simply open a bag; this lead me to believe it was likely Starbucks policy. She was quick to let me know that this was a licensed store so they don't have to follow Starbucks policy. Ok, no problem. I asked if I could purchase a bag of veranda, if she could then open it, make my coffee from it, and then either retain all the remainder coffee or give it back to me. She declined- in a rude manner. She told me she would absolutely not make me a veranda. At this point, my father looked bewildered. Why was this conversation going the way it was? No clue. So I asked this girl why she wouldn't make me coffee from the bag and she told me that it goes bad after 7 days and that they don't have the business to justify it. Now here's the part that doesn't make sense- two reasons. First- If I had purchased the bag (whether or not I had left the bag for them to use for other customers), Starbucks was not footing the bill. I was. It meant that much to me to have that particular coffee that I was happy to buy an entire bag. Second- if someone had just opened a bag of that coffee 5 days earlier, where did that bag disappear to? Was it perhaps purchased by customers?
This was easily the worst I've been treated in a Starbucks and is one of the worst I've been treated by someone interacting with the public. I've worked customer service. This girl lacks the maturity, patience, and ability to communicate to do that job. Frankly, I would have her working in a position not near...

Overcharged at first and then she ran her mouth and started talking down to me. Having a bad day and maybe this isn't your attitude every day? If that's the case, you need to recognize that in yourself and learn to put that aside while working.
This Starbucks has an abysmal rating- it's clear to me why. Those managing it rely on at least some of the many people traveling through the area to visit. Because of this, there is no concern for repeat customers. And therefore, no concern for customer service. Please, for the sake of those living in the area, turn this place around.
Until then, I'll make the extra 10 minute drive to the one located at.. 899 Tahoe Blvd, Incline Village, NV 89451
Try them. The difference is night and day.

Read moreI rarely post reviews but this Starbucks is absolutely one of the worst and it's so disappointing. And this is over multiple visits over multiple years. Always out of something. And no customer service to say, "I'm sorry we don't have that but I can make you this..." Instead it's just, "we're out." I've read other reviews too that there is no greeting when you walk up and sometimes you are just standing there for minutes without any acknowledgement like, "hey sorry give me a minute I'll be right with you." Instead it's just the attitude that I'll get to you when I get to you and I really don't care. Again, zero customer service. Even being out of items would be received without issue if it was simply met with, "I'm sorry about that" or " can I get you this instead?" Pretty...
