On my travels, got to visit the Honeybaked Ham and Cafe in Citrus Heights, CA. And let me say, the cafe is classy. I appreciate the price point of the sandwhich selections. I tried the "Turkey Bacon Ranch" sandwich which is $6.00. It consisted of choice of Bread (they have a selection), Honeybaked Ham, Turkey, Bacon, Chedder Cheese, The usual Vegetable condiments (Tomato, onion), and Avocado.
Let me tell you, the way they created the sandwhich had been true to the name of the sandwhich. Meaning, they were not skimpy on the ingredients of the namesake. That Ham, Turkey, Bacon was perfectly cooked crispy (was stacked and interlaced to cover every inch of the sandwhich) and the Ranch Dressing. I really appreciate that they sandwhich artists put plenty of Bacon on the sandwhich.
I was offered 2 sides and a bottled drink for 4 dollars more. The side I selected was Chedder Potatoes (cooked like au gratin, but without the seasoning) that also had sizable pieces of Ham and some Chives that added to the great flavor of the cheese sauce. The other side selections are a choice of Soup or Salad. I selected the Salad which has Romain Lettuce, Field Greens,Tomato, Purple Cabbage and Red Bell Pepper (that gave an extra flavor and crunch) while topped with Ranch Dressing I drizzled from a side ramekin.
The the time of having my lunch was at 1:15pm on a Thursday. The Sandwhich Artist offered me samples of their Turkey a couple of times. There were a couple of people ordered some Ham and some Turkey. The Cafe area was empty and clear. My lunch experience there was fantastic, reasonably priced and I give a Solid 5 Stars rating because they honor Military d Veterans even though they didn't officially have a discount. I appreciate, they Discounted on the of the sides (the Cheesy Potato) w/ $2 off. Awesome and...
Read moreDon't even know where to begin. Had a craving for ham off season. Stopped by and got a smaller ham. Paid $60 for it. Grabbed a couple other items while there. Turkey breast, ham salad, etc. Doesn't even occur to me to check the food. I've been buying from the company (different location) for the last 10 years. Always consistent. While waiting, prior to the actual purchase, staff was just about as rude as can be without crossing any legal boundaries. Horrible attitudes and an obvious dissatisfaction with their choice in employment. Anyway, got home with my purchase and found the ham inedible. Burned. The glaze on the outside was black. Charred. The ham itself was overcooked and hard in the middle. Pictures are attached. And no, i hadnt even warmed it up yet. This was the initial opening of the package to take a portion out to make a sandwich with. Filled out the survey on the receipt, requested contact to address the issue, waited a week or more and nothing. I see 2025 won't include any ham for Easter, Thanksgiving,...
Read moreWell, can't say how good it was yet, haven't eaten it. But I will say this shop is located in the worst possible place ever!! Coming from the Roseville side of sunrise Blvd is the worst scenario. You must make a U-turn at the light just past the place, have your vehicle sticking out in traffic, praying someone doesn't hit you from behind, then after waiting for the light to turn green, now you're stuck behind all the cars trying to turn into this very small parking area. I ended up going in the next driveway over, pulling around to the back for curbside pickup, only now I'm facing the wrong way. But they brought it out to me, didn't complain and were very polite about the...
