They were getting close to closing when my husband and I walked in (Not in the last 5 minutes. We aren't those people.) They were just as genuinely friendly as if we had walked in at lunch. Not only were they patient with my indecision while ordering,, they even took time to chat with us while they fixed our food and rung us up. They were just really real, and positive people. We didn't feel rushed out the door, or like they were resentful we were there. I ordered the caprese sandwich, warm, and my husband ordered the French dip and a small Greek salad. The prices were reasonable (more than reasonable in light of the quality!) and the food was ready in a decent amount of time. We were only one of two orders, but still, they didn't sit around and "twiddle their thumbs". The food...unbelievably, the food was even better than the service! I didn't eat my sandwich as soon as we got home because kids🤷🏻♀️, but even after it had cooled I was literally amazed at the flavor and freshness. I'm not impressed by much, not because I expect more, but because I just don't feel it. This impressed me, from the soft but substantial crunch of the sourdough, to the pleasing lack of rubberyness from the mozzarella. The balsamic glaze busted with flavor without being overpowering, and they put just enough on the sandwich to keep it from being dry, but not so much it was soggy or drowning in it. Even the greens hadn't wilted as it sat for a few hours! The same can be said for my husband's salad. He never gets excited unless it has an impact, and as he relayed what could only be described as an "experience " when he ate it, he became animated and closed his eyes as he savored the memory. Let me point out he didn't eat the salad until THE NEXT DAY , around noon! Not only did he practically DROOL as he told me "I HAD to get one!", he was especially astounded that none of it had wilted! Even after sitting in the fridge all night, and in his lunch box half the day. I think it's obvious from my chapter book about our experience, but we intend to go back...and if the second visits as good as the first, they have earned themselves a...
Read moreUnfortunately, I'm having to leave this bad review after years of coming here, and was always very satisfied. Until I met Vanessa, the shift leader. My co-workers and I frequent this spot often as the food is usually wonderful and the service is also. But I was greeted by the shift leader vanessa, she took my phone order and when I proceeded to come in person to pick it up, she very rudely told me she had several garbage cans in her store. I was very confused as to why she was telling me this, I said, "ok..." She said you need to use the trash cans instead of littering all over our parking lot. In all my life I have never littered not one time, especially in a parking lot full of businesses. At first I thought perhaps she had me mistaken with someone else, but when I realized how rude and persistent she was, making rude and snide comments to the other workers, and speaking about me saying that I was "mad because I litter" She was obviously very confused, or possibly on some sort of drugs. It is with disappointment that I will have to tell the rest of my employees, friends, and family to not do business with this restaurant any longer. Hopefully no one else will be attacked or bothered by vanessa. And hopefully she can find a different place of employment, although with her attitude and her disrespectful tone, I highly doubt that's possible...
Zero stars for Vanessa
PS. My coworker went back inside for her order, Vanessa told her "hope you enjoy that" Now we all have to throw our food away, because we don't know what she did to it. Completely unprofessional and...
Read moreI hadn't really given myself a chance--until I ordered at this location--to really sit down and try Sourdough & Co.'s food. I got a meal with everything: a 6" sandwich, soup, cookies, and a drink. Upon walking in, I was welcomed immediately and assisted with my pickup order. The staff were friendly and overall the service was good. The shop was clean and orderly, and generally has the same rustic charm as other Sourdough & Co.'s I've walked into. The sandwich itself was good, the bread and meat were great and the veggies were fresh, but it was oversauced. So the sauce just kinda ended up overtaking the sandwich. I didn't eat the soup until later, but it wasn't worth 7 dollars for the small cup I got with my sandwich. I ordered two cookies and got one chocolate chip cookie and one of their lemon cooler cookies. I've had their lemon cooler before, and it was really good. But the chocolate chip cookie I had was underbaked and dough-y in the middle. I hope that that was a one-time thing, because I really wanted to like it (since it's a chocolate chip cookie). Overall, with the cookies included, I spent about $28 on my meal. I definitely could have gotten better food--and more of it--elsewhere for $28. Disclaimer: I tried to keep my review fair, as my criticisms are mostly of the value you get for the price of the food, rather than of this particular location. The staff here were lovely and the store...
