Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Camarillo

Went to this location for lunch today, walked in and went to sit at the bar which had 15 open seats. The hostess said there was a 10-15 minute wait to sit at the bar as well as tables, so we said ok and sat down to wait.

While waiting, another couple walked in and a different hostess said they could go sit at the bar. I asked if we could go also and she said she would check. While she was in the back checking, another couple walked right in and sat at the bar. No one said anything to them.

The original hostess then came back and said she could sit us at a table, which then we asked if we could sit at the bar. She said no and had an attitude after I explained how two other people came in and sat there without being told anything. She then said she would sit us at a table, or we could wait ANOTHER 15 minutes for the bar. We explained how two different parties came in and sat at the bar while we were waiting and were not told to wait at all. She then went and got her manager who came out and said we could go sit at the bar, but might have to wait to be served since other people sat down there first.

I explained the situation to her, and she did not offer any apologies or show any empathy towards us. We felt like the employees did not care at all thar we waited and were just asking to sit at the bar. We said we were going to leave and go somewhere else, which the manager then said okay that’s fine you can go. The two employees helping were very rude. We never raised our voice or anything. I work in customer service, and that is not how to...

Ordered the French onion soup, the appetizer nachos (as an entree), and the strawberry balsamic chicken salad. The soup was bland. I could make better French onion soup. I HAVE made better. The nachos said the chips were freshly made, but they were clearly out of a bag. We asked for the Chipotle lime chicken and it came on top of the beef like they forgot and then just dumped it on top instead of making it over. Okay, fine. But the chicken had no flavor. We'd asked for extra jalapenos, but didn't get it. And who puts fresh jalapenos instead of pickled on nachos? The salad was good, though, but it came out way before anyone else'sfood. As if it was a side salad. But it wasn't. The service left something to be desired. They weren't busy, but our waiter (while nice), seemed to always be too busy to help us. And if we did get his attention, he often scurried off to fulfill our requests before we were even done asking for everything we needed. And he didn't clear our empty dishes enough so the table was crowded with them and it was more difficult to eat. Overall, not impressed with anything about this restaurant. Should've gone somewhere else....

The general manager Nancy can thank Kirk (Friday night manager when I called) and my server on Thursday afternoon who would rather spend time with her son on the job than check on her patrons!! I was there with my service dog and resulted in making him “misbehave” just to get SERVICE!! It took 20+ minutes, the waitress walking around him (I was spacing out & missed her coming by until she passed) and FINALLY a person with physical needs (aka wheelchair) needing to get by for me to “correct” my service dog… PLEASE keep in mind, I’m being encouraged (via text) to have my boy join me on my seat JUST to get attention (knowing this is against FDA regulations). Sadly, I don’t think a single employee would have said a thing!!

I made it crystal clearly that he was laying in the isle for a reason! THAT NOT ONE PERSON HAS CHECKED ON MY MEAL (which was a BLOODY RAW steak; it also took me TWO employees & 5+ minutes just to get A1 sauce!!) and that he was “acting up” (again, he was PARTIALLY ON THE TABLE!!!) just so I could get service!!!

The BEST PART IS!! When I called this evening and spoke with KIRK HE HUNG UP ON ME REFUSING TO GIVE...
