Lalo's Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Camarillo

Exceptionally disappointed. We have eaten at this restaurant 9 times. 6 times at the restaurant and 3 times pickup/delivery. Every single order except one has been wrong. Completely incorrect and places my family in life threatening situations. My wife is allergic to beans, I order food that normally comes with rice and beans & specify "no beans - double rice or rice only, no beans"... her food comes with beans. There is a white substance on the hard shell tacos. The ladies at the restaurant call it a "kind of mexican cheese"... Whatever it is, my son is deathly allergic to it... I order these tacos for him with lettuce and YELLOW (cheddar) cheese only - but they added the white cheese. Both of these situations can kill two of my family members but they don't listen to the request and simply do whatever they want. I ordered the items today, drove the 20 minutes to pick them up, was assured by two different girls at the restaurant that the order was correct, they recited back to me what was in the bags... I get home - open them up and WRONG !!! I've been calling them for over 20 minutes to get it corrected - can't get through. Call the other location - they don't care, it's not their location. I asked for the owner to call me back. I was told she will not. On top of the screwups above, I ordered a House Salad for me. Just a house salad. I got a Chicken Salad with Avocado and some kind of sauce. I know that cost more than the house salad, but that's not the point. I didn't want the chicken or that sauce. I came to Lalo’s Family Resteraunt with my family to have a good lunch since I have heard good things about this place. I have to say I was disappointed with how my evening went while dining in. My family and I ordered our food with me getting a Shrimp Burrito with red rice but when I received my burrito it was really flat and didn’t have the right rice inside so I kindly asked them to fix it and they did so I was okay with it at the start. My mother got the “Mojarra Frita” with rice and beans on the side but when she tried the rice and beans they were so cold it felt like the cook made her food really early and just let it get cold over time. My mom had to ask to get it redone. My sister got the Salmon with Garlic Aioli but when she recieved it they forgot the garlic, so we told our server that they forgot it the garlic aioli and they made things right and gave my sister a complimentary piece of garlic bread as an apology but that took a turn aswell. The garlic bread was burnt and tasted awful that my sister didn’t even want to take a second bite. I’m not upset at the fact things got mixed up and orders got wrong, I’m just upset that that our food was cold and the taste of the food overall wasn’t acceptable for being decently priced. The food is good, but disappointingly, the alchol mix drinks are not. Huge let down on the drinks. Being a Mexican restaurant, I figured they would have delicious Micheladas and Margaritas, but I was wrong. The micheladas tasted off. It might be because they probably use the premixer michelada mix, super nasty, and that stuff is always gross. Also, the margaritas tasted more like rubing alcohol with the alcohol that they put in than an actual margarita. I didn't want a shot or a bottle, I wanted an authentic margarita or at least a mimic of one. Other than that, the food was amazing and the restaurant could have had more staff help on the floor. The servers sections were all scattered. It doesn't seem like they have an organized system or assigned sections because there were only 2 servers that I saw running around like chickens with their heads cut off all around the restaurant. Also, their was only 1 bar tender at the bar attending 20 pluss people alone with drinks. That could have been a factor as to why our drinks tasted bad. The bar could have used another bar...
