FUN BIRTHDAY DINNER ! My wife and I were up in Cambria for a one week vacation to celebrate her birthday with close family. We even rented an Airbnb 5 bedroom house ( sleeps 18 ) with a fabulous ocean view. On Saturday ( my wife's birthday ) everyone convened at Linn's Restaurant for my wife's birthday dinner. Our reserved table for a party of 12 was upstairs and things kicked off at 6pm. A server named Manny looked after our table during dinner. BEER ! A pretty average selection...I was happy enough with a Stella Artois. A couple of the guys ordered a Firestone Brewing "Mind Haze" IPA and some of the girls ordered wine. NICE TOUCH ! A couple of serves of complimentary house baked Focaccia with sides of Linn's own Olallieberry Preserve ( jam ) came out within a few minutes...very delicious. First up I ordered the Coconut Encrusted Shrimp Starter ( Asian slaw, Linn's blood orange sweet heat dipping sauce ). This came out pretty fast and tasted fabulous. OUR END OF THE TABLE ! For my entree I ordered Shrimp & Scallop Linguini ( rock shrimp, bay scallops, fresh tomato, basil, white wine cream sauce, parmesan ), my wife chose a Chicken Pot Pie ( breast and thigh meat, carrot, green peas, celery, onion, red bell pepper, chicken gravy ), our daughter selected Linn's Cambria Clam Chowder Soup and our son-in-law went for the Olallieberry Burger ( cracked black pepper, Linn's olallieberry sweet heat sizzling topper, brie, blue cheese, shaved red onion, bacon, arugula, served with steak frites ). Our 2 young grand daughters scored Chicken Tenders. LOTS OF CHATTER ! Everyone was catching on the latest family news while we waited for our mains. My wife's Chicken Pot Pie & Veggies hit the table first followed by our daughter's Clam Chowder Soup. Next up it was my Shrimp & Scallop Linguini and our son-in-law's Olallieberry Burger with Steak Frites. Lastly the little girl's plates of Chicken Tenders & sides of fresh Fruit arrived. TOO HOT ! Initially my wife and I couldn't get near our meals because they were way too hot. Eventually after a cool down period we tucked in....my wife thought her Chicken Pot Pie was very delicious. My huge bowl of Shrimp & Scallop Linguini looked as per the description on the menu. I asked our server Manny for some fresh grated parmigiana which he brought out to me quickly. Everything tasted very creamy but I guess I am used to large shrimp and scallops with this dish.....these ones looked ever so tiny. Our daughter enjoyed her Clam Chowder Soup and her hubby loved his Olallieberry Burger & Steak Frites. I saw a bunch of different meals at the other end of our table and didn't hear any complaints. A few people ordered desserts...we opted for my wife's chocolate birthday cake. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ! The candles atop the pretty cake ( made by my wife of course ) were lit and we all sang HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my lovely wife. WHAT...

Wow, it’s amazing how poor service can taint you ever returning. Someone had recommended Linns restaurant for their pies! Their pie shop closed at 6 but when we saw the restaurant was open to 9 we planned dinner around being at Linns restaurant to have pie for dessert. We got to the restaurant about 8pm last night. While we stood at the sign waiting (10 mins to get seated) Excitement went through us while looking at the retail items, the to go pastry cabinet & seeing all the wonderful coffee options. We had made up our mind we would go there this morning on our way out of town. When an employee finally greeted us After 10mins of waiting at sign to get seated, I immediately said we are going to make this easy on you: we just want to get some pie. He sat us with menus, poured water & said he’d be right back. It was ANOTHER 10-15 minutes to get our order of 1 slice olaliberry pie & a flavored tea in. He asked if we wanted heated & a la mode. Response was YES for heated, NO thank you for a La mode. Another 10-15 minutes pie & tea arrived served “Luke warm” & a La mode. I mentioned we didn’t ask for a La mode, he said don’t worry, we won’t charge you. We finished our pie within 10-12 minutes looking for server to get bill - hadn’t seen any staff since pie got dropped off but we certainly could hear several staff people chattering away behind wall between kitchen & to go counter. I finally saw Stuff member organizing silver silverware although she was not our server. I went and asked her if we could get the bill. And then took about another five minutes. My husband and I just wanted out of there so we decided to pay for cash to make it simple And the bill had our Alamo charge on it. Had to go find the weights to have tell them about it, it wasn’t our waiter so they had to go wait to find the wait and found out. Yes, he was supposed to credit us. I’ve already decided not to tip and give a change. So we gave her gas and waited another five minutes. They were closing, we got out of there at nine so let’s do the math one hour to get a piece of pie. Wonder what it would’ve been for dinner I don’t like writing negative things about businesses but it will be quite awhile before we go back especially with all the other dessert options in Cambria. And to think we passed on the enticing desserts at The Sea Chest just to come to Linns Restaurant for their known pies! So...

Oh my Goodness where should i start. I wish they were closer to mem, id be there every day. Me and my son practically were. A needed vacation, i havent gone for 12 years. Something was calling me to Cambria. This place was calling me.,to come and enjoy real comfort food. They are known for their Olallieberry, everything fresh farm to table. When you walk in to the 2 story building theres lots to see. Giftshop, small bakery and around the corner the restaurant. Now the cool thing is we sat one night down stairs and the other up stairs. The first night we enjoyed the roasted chicken and wild salmon. The chicken was fresh and moist oh my it was fabulous, the sides were a cranberry stuffing, carrots, and mash potaoes, all the flavorsof Olallieberry sauce was pure satisfaction to my taste buds and tummy. My son love the sauce more, so you know we snagged some before we left home...lol. Second night we both tried the pot roast..even better the portions were amazing, i tried mine with a side of cranberry stuffing and again Heaven. We decided to try there Olallieberry pie, now just one thing i wish i was told the choice of whip cream was extra. But all in all it was so good. Linns made our time, the best time. Excellent customer service, food, atmosphere. You have to go and experience yourself this magnificent place. I know we...

We were a party of three senior women. On the first night, two of us had steak which was a large portion, cooked perfectly with a veggie melody seasoned and heated to perfection. I had the Mauhi Mauhi, it was rubbery, but seasoned perfectly and delicious veggies. Our waiter was short with us, did not smile, we thought he was having a bad evening, till we seen him laughing and being friendly with the other guests. After he heard my comment to the girls at our table about his friendly attitude with the other guests, he became a little more friendly with us. A couple days later, we went back for coffee around 2pm, we had a different waiter who was very friendly and quick to serve coffee, which was all we wanted. When I decided to order a to-go salad, the waiter brought a menu and did not return to take my order, we had finished our coffee and still no waiter. I walked over to the kitchen and seen the waiter in the kitchen laughing with another waiter. I stood in the doorway to the kitchen for a while before he acknowledged me. A different waiter took my order, he was very friendly and attentive. The salad was perfect, fresh/tasty veggies, and perfectly seasoned and cooked chicken. The prices were high, especially for the service. The bill for dinner was $200 including tip and one cocktail.

Linn's is such a wholesome and friendly restaurant. You can tell that the owner really values his customers and wants to create an inviting environment that makes guests feel like family. The restaurant itself has a very cozy vintage vibe with old paintings and dark oak furniture. It definitely sets the mood. The waiters are very friendly and attentive. We were seated within 10 minutes and received food and drinks soon after. Food is remarkable ... it's simply traditional, all-American comfort food (however, we decided to go with non-American dishes hahah). One of us got the shrimp and scallop linguini, It was delectable with a creamy sauce, fresh herbs, and topped with fresh parmesan. It paired perfectly with a glass of white wine. We also ordered a zesty southwestern salad with chicken. It had the perfect fusion of fresh and marinated vegetables, creamy avocado, juicy chicken, and crunchy tortilla strips. It was hearty yet refreshing! And of course, I'll re-state the obvious that Linn's bakery is truly the best on the Central coast. Their baked pastries and pies are to die for. Bottom line, make sure to stop by Linn's to truly experience the charm of Cambria. They'll make you feel right at home :)
