Soto's True Earth Market — Restaurant in Cambria

The market is a fun collection of natural food, local produce and a lot of things you'll never find in a big grocery store. But it's their eclectic and creative menu of prepared food and deli selections at the back of the store that make this one of my favorite local spots.

They make lunch or dinner easy with ready-made or deli-style burritos, salads or wraps. Perfect to take home or on a picnic.

Their tofu (chicken) curry salad is so full of flavor that you don't need to be a vegetarian to love it. My husband and I paired it with a noodle salad the last time, and it was a great combo.

So far, I've liked everything on the menu. They have quality ingredients, and you can taste it. I actually prefer it to many of the local restaurants.

A selection of local beer and wine, along with an interesting array of ones that you rarely see, give you a chance to try something different.

Overall love the store. Very disappointed to see Icelandic farmed salmon for sale there, as history and research has shown us without doubt how destructive the salmon farming practices are. For a store that markets itself as "natural" and "true earth," carrying such an environmentally damaging product is something that needs to be changed. Farmed salmon is incredibly destructive to the environments in which they're farmed in. Having spent a lot of time in the wild western fjords of Iceland (which my family is from), and as a fly fishing guide for wild salmon in Iceland, I see firsthand what the effects of these farms are. Very disappointing to see one of my favorite stores in Cambria carry a product which currently is the biggest threat to our wild trout and salmon population. Hope to see...

Went in here twice during my stay in Cambria. Good selection of items but noticed pricing is not visble or marked on a lot of items I looked at. I was in a hurry the first day was not given a receipt for my purchase. Went in the next morning for juices. The juice shots and juice had no labels for pricing, but I did grab one that was marked on the bottle. I checked out and you are not able to see the prices as they scan. I had to ask for a receipt after my purchase, was not offered. I looked over and noticed I had been overcharged for the only juice that had a price on it. The lady at the counter said she was just going to refund the difference and gave me a slip and I have checked my card over the last few days and no such credit was given. Be wary when you are...
