A great place to meet new people and delicious unique pies! Service was great, fast and friendly. The menu is full of what you would expect from an Italian pizza place-for starters: meatballs, focaccia, sliders with some unique vegan gluten-free options including tomato bisque, which was very good. Additionally, they have salads and entrées. What you’re seeing below is the whole 29 garlic shrimp which is gluten-free and has spinach & roasted garlic and it’s delicious. I think I already said delicious once, but I’ll say it again! There’s a few sandwiches and now for the pies! I got the thin crust onion tart, which is caramelized onion, Iva‘s fresh mozzarella and crème fraîche drizzle. This is what I wanna say: I think this is a hidden gem because the pies they have are full of deliciousness. What we actually did was take the leftover spinach from the entrée from the garlic shrimp & and put it on the pie! Getting creative lol it was absolutely delicious too-just took the pie to another level (if that’s possible). So yummy! I would suggest asking well done if you’d like your crust a little toastier - mine was a little light, but I forgot to ask so that’s on me. Some of the other pies they have is margarita, Bianca, Caprese, but some unique ones include the mushroom tart which is mozzarella and provolone mushroom red onion, truffle oil, and arugula so you see it’s a fancier pie. They also have Detroit style, so Sicilian basically similar pies, but in that style. They do have a kids menu spaghetti, butter, pasta, meatball so everything ranges under $20 for the most part very reasonable. I couldn’t eat the whole thing so I took it home :-) If you’re looking for directions, they are across the street up a little bit from where they used to be so if you’re familiar with Cambridge, they are not on that corner anymore and they’re next to the post office. It looks like they have a call ahead waitlist for parties of 2 to 7 guests. You can call ahead and if you have a bigger party that’s 8 to 12 then yes they take reservations same day (at least 2 hrs ahead) according to their website. Very good and I will be here again! Check the website for any specials. :)

Stopped by Avas for lunch at the recommendation of our B&B host. Overall it was a good stop. Location was easy to find and it wasn't super busy on Thursday afternoon. Thus it was also fairly quiet though I can see it being a hoping place. They have some television, the reason I mention this is because in some places it can add to or take away from the atmosphere. It this case it was negligible. One program was...maybe golf? Whatever it was, wasn't interesting or distracting at all. But the other was...get this, Bob Ross! I was actually intrigued by that. I don't think I've ever been in a restaurant where Bob Ross was playing. It was a cool picture, as always 😎. Anyway, service was good, the waiter was pleasant, helpful and generally kept our water full. We ordered a pizza, separate salads and fries. The pizza was pepperoni with peppers and sausage (on my half). It was tasty but a bit greasy. The fries were also delicious but a bit too salty. Like, a lot of salt. So, low BP folks, have at it. The salad was a Ceasars that was actually quite good. Just the right amount of dressing, cheese and croutons. I would recommend it for sure and I'd definitely go back if in the area, given those caveats.

Where to start? In a 5 star rating system Location and decor 5 stars Food 6 stars Service 7 stars If you're in town visiting make this your lunch/dinner stop. Sit, unbutton, and be ready to become part of the family. Amazing portions with amazing flavor in everything our group ordered. I mean, they cook with love here and you can taste it in every bite. Thank you to our hosts for making this such a memorable experience and keep up the amazing work!

Very interesting experience today, not sure why, but again the situation wasn’t remedied, I ask if it’s OK to sit outside today, the waitress said sure and I said that I’ll eat out here. I washed them bring silverware and wait on the table that came after me. The waitress never again greeted me or came to my table. Then somebody came out and told me that they were going to give my table to somebody else. Again, no hello, no high, no can we help you? And when I ask what I’ve done to make a mad or that they wouldn’t wait on me. I just got that look in the eye from the person I was talking to. Then he asked oh are you gonna be dining with us then? I guess not. Considering that I’ve done there many times, love their food, and as previous rating shows, I thought they were pretty excellent. I guess things change. As far as all the other questions about noise and size and food I can’t answer today. I do have a policy if not hanging around somewhere I’m not welcomed. Update: Sept 25, 2025: I emailed at the address mentioned when I posted. as of today I have still not received any correspondence back, and I figure, all things even, a week is plenty of time. I noticed the review got an instant reply, although it looked very reminiscent of previous replies to other customers, which basically didn't take any direct responsibility for the incidents, in fact as I read through them, I noticed a subtle and consistent shift in responsibility or direct denial. :(. I am also left to question if any of the other patrons received any response if they had written/emailed. So review...

I am a frequent flying of Ava’s , which is why I won’t give it a one star but tonight’s experience killed it for me and I probably won’t return. We sat down and after about 5 minutes our waitress came up to talk to us , she was nice but that’s about it . We come to Ava’s often so we knew what we wanted . We ordered our drinks, appetizer, and food right away. When the waitress was done talking about 90 seconds later the appetizer came from a different waitress . It was hot on the outside but luke warm on the inside . Our waitress came back asked how it was and I said it was good . Even not hot the appetizer was good . That’s where our waitress stopped and we felt ignored . About 15 minutes later our food came out and brought to us by a different waitress , we ate our entire meal and our waitress never came back and checked on us . Notice in this I never once mentioned us getting our drinks ……. Because WE WERE IGNORED ! We never even got our drinks . We finished eating and sat waiting for about 10 minutes to be acknowledged. Finally she comes up and asked if we wanted our check , the wife was nice and said yes but don’t charge us for the drinks as you never gave them to us. She said sorry and also comped our appetizers which was nice of her . I didn’t expect it, I really just wanted our normal service . Tonight was a let down Ava’s.

5 minutes to get our waitress 15 minutes to get food our food 20 minutes to eat it 10 minutes waiting for check Not having drinks...
