My husband and I were delighted to have experienced this brand new Cambridge restaurant for the first time last month. We found not only the decor and design to be creative and stylish, but the service from our bartender (we sat at the small bar) Taylor to be top-notch. The food was also delicious! I had the soft-shelled crab sandwich special and my husband had a yummy flatbread. I was initially concerned that the roll for the crab would be too puffy and bready, but it was of a perfect consistency and flavor. The crab itself was only lightly breaded and sautéed instead of fried, which I found to be delicious! It also had a scrumptious (albeit rather heavy-handed) slathering of homemade remoulade. Our one and only concern/complaint was the price for my husband's draft beer. We were astonished when we asked for the bill to discover that the price for a pint of Peabody Heights (a Baltimore brewery) was $11. We could have understood if it had been a 10+ abv Belgian import, but as a mid-level abv Maryland craft beer, we were astonished. In the end, though, we will certainly return to Christopher's Corner and would recommend it to anyone who is up for a fun new Cambridge dining experience, with a very small caveat to find out the price of the draft beer before...
Read moreIf you like a pricey theme restaurant with all the frills, including bacon on your asparagus and pork in your succotash, then this is the place for you. The chef even came out to ask us how it was as we were getting started; unfortunately it was before I found the pork in my succotash, which was unexpected with salmon. These are details fellow pescatarians may want to know about. Otherwise the furniture and theme, wine list, and special cocktails were all quite nice. The cut of the steak and the way it was cooked seemed very good. Make sure you ask about the specials as our waitress apparently forgot to tell us, although after we got our food we overheard her tell other new patrons about them. They may have lump crab as I saw a review about it, but there was none...
Read moreWhat a lovely downtown restaurant. Buddy, alongside his daughter, has created a wonderful dining experience with spectacular dishes and superb service. Our server, Lori, was kind, knowledgeable, and attentive. The soft crab bites, buffalo oysters, mini crab cakes (those cucumbers and onions wow) and beet salad were a perfect way to start our meal. Delicious wine, Old Fashions, and martinis also were enjoyed. Onto the mains- bangers and mash, steak and frites, and the special soft crab on Buddy’s take of the traditional succotash- all outstanding. Finished off with mango ice cream and cake- delicious! We will be recommending this little gem to family and friends and cannot wait for our next trip. You knocked it out of the...
