Far Out Ice Cream — Restaurant in Cambridge

If you are dairy free in ANY capacity, make sure you find and click the button that it’s an allergy. They are just mixing all the ice cream from before into the same single cone. So you get flavors and ice cream from however many people were before you. We got a mango that was dark purple from whatever was in before. The dairy free went right in after the dairy mango and we had to stop him and ask why. They then argued that if you don’t mark it as an allergy they wouldn’t change the cone. The employees were also eating the ice cream next to the prep area/customer ice cream. They also had the sani bucket out nice to the food as well while prepping orders. I’m guessing as this is a new location they are still figuring things out but I would STRONGLY dissuade anyone with hopes of dairy free from coming here unless...

Brought my adult autistic daughter here to have a dairy-free treat after our duck boat tour. I felt like we were troubling the two workers behind the counter. My daughter was agitated, & DF fro yo frequently helps her calm down. As our items were made, they were plopped down on the counter, cup contents cascading onto the counter in actual puddles & globs. My own ice cream was placed into the cup as a gloved handful that had been carried from I'm not sure exactly where. Thankfully my daughter is currently cheering up, the fro yo effect, so that goal was achieved after I convinced her mixing the toppings in was the only way (according to the workers), which had furthered her agitation. Just a disappointing stop on the way back...

I guess I’ll never know if the ice cream is any good…. There was no one there to serve it. I got there around 1:30pm. The hours said the location was open from 12pm. I couldn’t figure out what flavors they served bucatini couldn’t find a menu anywhere (I thought I would select what I wanted while I waited for someone to return). I realized the monitors that would’ve had the menu were turned off. Then I saw a sign that was kind of hidden behind the cash register that said be back in 15 minutes. So I patiently waited until 1:52pm, which was well past the 15 minutes. As I was looking for more evidence of life, I noticed that there was no log from today’s date only from yesterday.
