I finally made my way to Kiin, and I'm so glad I did! It's definitely the best Thai food I've had in Boston.

The highlights for me were the seafood fire pot and the crab fried rice. The seafood fire pot had a beautifully complex broth -- I thought it would be sour, but it was also savory and had a kick. It was really delicious, and the scallops inside were very tender. I'd definitely get this again. The crab fried rice was really eell-cooked and had great flavor. I usually don't eat much rice, but I couldn't stop eating this!

The roti massaman appetizer was also good, though I wish there was more roti -- there was way more curry than we had roti, which was a shame because the roti was really nice and buttery. The curry was a bit sweet and not thick at all, but good.

The papaya salad was pretty good, though I would've preferred more fish sauce flavor (it was mostly sour and a bit sweet). There were only two shrimp, but they were nicely grilled and tender.

I also requested the guava margarita non-alcoholic, which they were able to do with their zero-proof gin. It basically tasted like juice, but I loved it!

Overall I was really pleasantly surprised by my experience here. I had flavors that I wasn't expecting, but now will be thinking about until my next visit. This is a great addition to the Cambridge food scene, and I'll...

I was surprised with the ridiculous size of the menu. It was like being at a diner, with page after page of choices. There was even a make-your-own stir fry. I've never seen something like that for a Thai restaurant, but I suppose there's nothing wrong with a lot of choices!

I got a Sam Adams, Tom Khar Gai soup, and Country Style Pad Thai. The Tom Khar Gai was flavorful, but was far too sweet; I've never tasted a Thai soup like that. It was almost bordering on a dessert sweetness. However, the Pad Thai Country Style was a solid pad thai with some good spice and a little extra something that made it a bit addictive.

The service left something to be desired. The other diners with me ordered drinks that never came until they asked for them again after their meals arrived. I asked for chopsticks after my meal came and sat waiting for the waitress to return for a while. I was going to ask for another beer at some point, but we didn't see our waitress much, and when we did see her we were reminding her of something we needed, so I just let it be.

Good food, with maybe some questionable dishes on a gigantic menu. Not great service. Good location. Worth a try, if you're a fan of Thai or want a...

This used to be my favorite Thai restaurant in the Cambridge/Boston area until tonight. The food we ordered was very delicious, but I'm sad to say I felt that my friend and I were discriminated against based on our race.

My friend and I ordered takeout and paid online. We arrived at the restaurant around 7pm on Monday, 17JAN 2022. Due to a change of plans, we asked the gentleman who was manning the register at the front if we could eat our food in the restaurant instead of taking it to-go. In an unfriendly tone, his initial response was, "you need vaccine cards to eat here." As military members who work in the area, we responded that we were both vaccinated and had our cards with us. The gentleman at the register proceeded to tell us, "You can't eat take out food inside the restaurant. It doesn't work like that."

I was confused as to why the initial response did not clarify whether or not we could eat take out food inside the restaurant, instead of inquiring about our vaccination status. The restaurant had significant seating with three tables occupied at the time. Neither of us will be returning to this...

As a Thai-American, I’m constantly looking for authentic Thai restaurants all over the country, and am usually disappointed. Kiin Thai is a new Thai restaurant in East Cambridge that has some of the most authentic Thai food I’ve ever had outside of Thailand. It would hold its own in Thailand. Chicken Satay was perfectly grilled and moist and tender (surprisingly hard to find it done well in the States). Hat Yai Fried Chicken was eye rolling good. Better than what I had at the famous places in Hat Yai. The steamed fish (pla lard prik manow) was perfectly flavored - also hard to find with the hot pot style here in the US—My favorite Thai dish and definitely gets a thumbs up. We got the pad grapow chicken (thai basil chicken) which was pretty good, not the best I’ve had. And the Pad Thai was the wet style which I’m not a fan of (not a big pad thai fan myself). Mango sticky rice had the strong coconut fragrance you find when done well in Thailand. Thai iced coffee was perfectly balanced. Service was attentive and restaurant was very beautiful. I would hit this place all the time if I lived in Boston!
