I was looking forward to the opening of this Moge Tee in Central Square since they put up the signs a few months ago. Because my friends praised this boba place so much (they tried Moge Tee at Allston location), I had high expectations for this place. Today (12/15/2021), I went there as their #20 customer (believe that this is the first day that they opened). I am super disappointed. Although the place wasn't packed, I had to wait for more than 15 minutes to get three cups of boba tea. This is understandable since it was their first day (-1 star).
We tried the brown sugar boba tea, the purple yam (both with regular black bubbles), and the DaHongPao (with crunchy white bubbles). All the tea was good. Nothing to complain about the tea. The white crunchy bubbles were also good. However, the regular bubbles were not fully cooked. They were hard to chew. It's not enjoyable (-1 another star).
Hopefully, they will improve soon.
UPDATE 2/7/2022 I gave MOGE TEE a second chance. I ordered Avocado Tea with cheese foam on top online via Chowbus.
Two more complaints:
(1) UNORGANIZED I placed the order 20 mins online around 8 pm on a weekday. When I got there, my order hasn't been made/started. There were only two customers and two staff members. Only one cup of tea was in the process of making. One of the staff members said they missed the order. I had to wait for a pickup order. While they were making mine, they stopped making what was in the process of making. It didn't make any sense. They can be more efficient.
(2) UNPROFESSIONAL They did my order incorrectly. Instead of having the cheese on the top, I had the cheese in the middle as a topping. It's alright since it's more expensive as a topping. However, I still didn't order this and wanted the cheese to be on the top.
In conclusion, I subtracted...

I asked some very normal, reasonable questions — for example, “Which taro drink do you recommend?” — and the response I received was, “You won’t like it. It’s fresh taro, not taro powder.” But I wasn’t asking whether I’d like it or not — I simply wanted to know which option is considered better. Instead of helpful information, I got a dismissive opinion.
I also asked if there were any other mango drinks besides the mango tea, and was told no — only to later find another mango drink on the menu myself. I asked for white boba to be added to my drink, but was given regular boba instead. I also requested 50% sugar, yet the drink was not sweet at all.
While waiting for my order, I saw another drink appear on the screen and asked a simple question: “What’s in that drink?” The response I got was: “You didn’t order that.” Excuse me — how is that a proper way to respond to a potential customer? Maybe I wanted to place another order.
The attitude of the staff was unwelcoming and dismissive. At other bubble tea spots — like the one in Back Bay, where lines often stretch 10–15 people deep — the service is much friendlier, more helpful, and more professional.
I sincerely hope management addresses this with the staff, because the service I experienced left a very...
Read moreI love boba tea and was itching to give this place a try but… ordering in-house was confusing. It’s a tight, cramped space with a partition in the front that had a sign stating “line starts here”. I was standing as far off to the side as I could to find the drink I was interested in on the website (which they didn’t have). Meanwhile, someone else came in to make an in-house order while I was there. They approached the counter after waiting a while at the start of the partition, only to be rudely redirected to a kiosk that was tucked away in the corner of the building. There’s no sign or notion suggesting that you have to use the kiosk… and a useless partition that takes up space in an already small cafe. The menu items online don’t match their in-house menu and after witnessing the standoffish behavior of the staff, I was completely deterred from ordering at that point. Maybe I’ll try ordering pick-up if I’m in the area again but as it stands, I’ve...
