Have you ever had a Bing? Would you like a quick break from your busy life? Are you a healthy eater and building your microbiome? Silantra is the answer. Visiting from out of town this is a gem! Cooking a thin Bing before your eyes a ladle of batter becomes a thin canvas to be filled with yummy, healthy, even fermented foods. The staff are bright, funny and helpful. My son convinced me to go. Biting into my Bing ( without cilantro) was a mouthful of savory, veggies, tangy, spicy flavors. Not over salted like most Harrisburg restaurants. I got two meals from one Bing. Love the option to pick up an earth friendly bowl to place my Bing, for easier consumption. This nurse is satisfied and highly suggests ! The only thing I would change is the logo. It doesn't reflect the product and the logo looks like a fried chicken place, which is the opposite! They need to add a unique drink station like Cava and Neato Burrito. Decor is boring, subway style seating. Healthiest place in town. Highly recommend. Wish my city had a...
Read moreGot a steak bowl with Uber eats, and I was a bit disappointed. The steak portion was a good size, and cooked well, but everything else was just… not incredibly flavorful. The pickled carrots were also quite dry for some reason. I got it with the yellow curry sauce, but it was pretty much all absorbed into the rice by the time I received it, which left everything else needing more flavor. Maybe serving the sauce on the side would bring a better result, but as far as I can see the only way to do so is to order sauce on the side for an extra 75 cents on Uber eats. I will say the bing (wrap) I got on the side was nicely made. Overall, maybe it’s just something that doesn’t travel well, or the sauce portions could be increased a bit (and served on the side)but I do think the vegetables need a bit more flavor. The steak was cooked well though and the portions of the...
Read moreWow! Just WOW! My friend and I tried this place for the first time today. We were disappointed that they were out of Bing wraps but once we sat down with our bowls, we forgot all about the bings. I’m pretty sure that we spent the first 5-10 minutes after tasting our meals just saying “yummmm” and OMG!
I had a bowl of coconut rice with chicken, broccoli, sautéd onions & bell pepper, edamame and corn with the yellow curry sauce, sprinkled with fried shallot and a bit of wasabi slaw on the side.
My friend had a bowl of brown rice, chicken, broccoli, sautéed onion and pepper, seaweed salad, pickled carrots, kimchi cucumber and several sauces.
The staff was friendly and patient with us as first-timers. The tables and restrooms were clean.
We’ve already made plans to return to Silantra for our next get together. This...
