Use the Giant grocery store off of Cumberland Parkway, instead of this Giant on Trindle road. Every time I shop at the Trindle Road store I come away irritated. Tonight I tried it again. Big mistake. At 11:15 pm: No registers were open. The self-serve check-out scans were all being used. The line of people waiting to use those scans was ELEVEN customers deep - that’s 11 purchasing customers, plus the people accompanying them. The line wrapped from the entrance to the self-scan area, into the main aisle, and stretched across two aisles. There are 3 employees hanging around a cash register. I asked if the register was open. I was told no. I called customer service while waiting - and waiting - in line. I asked the woman who answered whether she realized that the line to the self-serve scans extended into the main aisle quite a way and that none of the registers were open. She said she did know, but that no one in the store could open up a register. REALLY??? The three young employees chatting around a register could not open up a lane? The store doesn’t have managers and/or assistant managers managers present at all times? I don’t believe that. This is a huge Giant in a very busy area. It’s also the slowest Giant in the Harrisburg-west shore area. I exited the line, left my cart full of food in the aisle, and walked out.
The Giant off of Cumberland Parkway in Mechanicsburg is much better run, better organized, and is for the most part staffed by older employees with more experience and better...
Read moreA lot of the folks working here are great, I've had a lot of amazing encounters since moving to Camp Hill. That said, nearly every time I shop here, I am stopped at least once by my mortal enemy. I get it, the economy is awful, people need jobs, grocery industry seems to be booming though so why not. But it feels like borderline harassment at this point.
Marty, you googley-eyed, overgrown waste of circuitry. You have cut me off to stand directly in front of the lactose free milk one too many times. You know regular milk turns me into a human biohazard, but you stood there, circling and whirring like Velma when this week's ghost makes her drop her glasses. Another time, you snuck up behind me while I was consulting my shopping list and announced that a customer needed assistance. It was a Saturday morning, Martin, and you embarrassed me in front of dozens of people.
But your worst offense? Getting your crony twin brother that works at the Manchester location to bother me when I happened to stop there one evening. That loping fool chased a wolf spider in my direction. Wolf! SPIDER! Marty those are nearly as large as your comically oversized yet undersighted eyes! (Not to break kayfabe but this is an entirely true story and I am incredibly thankful to the women that yelled "Marty you useless fool". I felt seen in that moment of terror)
While I do prefer to do my shopping at Giant, I would be much happier to do so without satan's idiot bouncer...
Read moreI wanted to have a cake done through your bakery. When I dropped off a basic image of what I wanted (hand drawn with print-outs from the computer) on 01.26.19, I was told that "we try to stay away from hand-drawn" images on cakes and prefer to "transfer images" from pictures and such. However, I was assured that the cake decorator would contact me the next day (today) to discuss. I received a call from a very nervous and uncertain individual who every time I asked a question turned to the cake decorator (who was apparently right beside him, as I could hear the other person talking) and would come back. Essentially, I was informed that the "cake decorator," and I use the term loosely, would not be able to draw a pair of baby shoes on a cake, because "there's too much detail." I obviously canceled the order to find someone more capable. At this point, I would just take someone who can speak with me directly to figure out what is possible. HUGELY disappointed. You should likely not even have a "cake decorator" if they cannot (1) contact a client him/herself and (2) can actually decorate or help a client figure out how to decorate a cake to mutual satisfaction. [I tried multiple times to send directly to your store through the "contact us," but it would not allow...
