Two of us went here on a Tuesday night, arriving at 7pm, and we were the second group. We'd looked at the online menu in advance since we wanted a small plate experience, but it was very different than the one presented. The night's promotion of discounted bottles of wine was clearly explained, but as only one of us wanted wine we ordered one beer and one glass of wine. The wine the server recommended was the most expensive one in the category with no explanation of why it was better/different than the others, and the beer my companion ordered was not in stock. Neither was the second choice. The third one was, however, so we joked among ourselves that it was clearly a wine bar. We ordered one appetizer, the beef carpaccio, which took 45 minutes to arrive despite there being so few customers. We could see one of the people in the chef's area working hard on salads and other items for people who arrived after us, but the other was using her smartphone for something-or-other. May have been work related or not, but it still didn't feel professional when you're waiting for an uncooked appetizer. The food was delicious, but not worth the long wait. Tessora's seems nice if everyone in the party drinks wine, you want a quiet, self-involved/private experience, and you aren't in any type of hurry, but we'll skip this place...
Read moreI went to Tessora's for the VinoPaint night. The restaurant itself is smallish & felt pleasantly cozy to me. The waitstaff were warm, friendly, & helpful with explanations of what menu selections were, or how various wines might taste. I don't myself enjoy alcohol, but my dining partner said the free samples were quite good, & the wine she chose was delicious. The small plate food we chose was fresh & extremely tasty! We shared the chicken, cheese, & grilled onion sliders, the baked brie w/pear slices & raspberry sauce, & a dessert that was meltingly delicious. VinoPaint was a great deal of fun as well - I would gladly do it again, & I've already made a reservation for the Tuesday night fondue! Later edit: returned for Fondue Tuesday -- very tasty! They'll tell you the fondue is designed for two but you might be able to stretch it out for three. We had NO trouble doing so! The cheese sauce is simple and tasty, and there were four dipping items. We also got the Where's the Chardonnay? flatbread. An interesting mix of flavors, though I found the flatbread to taste a little 'cardboard-y.' My only issue was that it got quite loud when the trivia started... but it was still a very nice experience....

The food is SO GOOD. I got the BLTC slider and Chicken Marsala. The wait staff is super nice and will stop to chat with you, and not just about the food (I probably divulged more information than needed).
The best thing (and maybe it's because I went on the right day) has to be the music! I was super curious about it, because the songs were always on point. When I asked the waitress, she told me they have Alexa, the Amazon virtual assistant, selecting the music. The day I went, Avril Lavigne was playing (remember her?). And there was Kid Rocking/Sheryl Crow, Michelle Branch, and a whole bunch of favorites from the 2000s. Amazing. (I'm suddenly terrified of the thought that these songs could be considered "old classics" someday and they're almost drinking age).
I saw on the menu there are monthly activities (like painting class with wine, live bands, etc.). I'd have to research more, but those could make fun...
