My pregnant wife, who is a strict vegetarian, asked me to pick up Taco Bell on my way home. Since there have been past instances where she accidentally bit into meat, which completely ruined her meal, I wanted to ensure her order was correct.
When I arrived at the drive-thru, I was greeted by an AI system. To ensure accuracy, I asked to speak with a team member. A staff member took over and confirmed my order. I then pulled ahead and waited for about 20 minutes before reaching the payment window.
When I got to the window, the employee unexpectedly confronted me in a rude manner, saying I was required to use the AI system to order. She then claimed that her manager would have told me to leave the line. I simply responded, “Cool.” At that point, she raised her tone and accused me of having an attitude. I was taken aback. While holding my credit card in her hand, she then said she was refusing to take my order and that I should go elsewhere. I asked, “Are you actually refusing my business?” and added that I would take legal action. She repeated my words to the manager, whom I could not see, and they apparently empowered her to continue refusing service. Ultimately, she returned my card, and I asked her to consider whether her actions were ethical.
I later called the store and spoke with the manager, who initially claimed to have heard everything and defended the employee, insisting that I was the one being rude. However, as I explained the situation and the seriousness of refusing service without cause, she contradicted herself, saying she wasn’t present for the entire incident and that it wouldn’t have happened if she had been. She offered me a free meal, which I declined, stating that I wasn’t interested in compensation—I just wanted the name of the person in charge of the store. She refused to provide a name and eventually put me on hold indefinitely until I...
Read moreUpdate again because I decided to give them yet another chance - The associate told me cash only so I said I was gonna run to the car to grab my cash and I went out to my car, when I came back to go back inside the door was locked. I wasn't out there more than a minute, at 12:15pm. Then I went through the drive thru and got to the window and said "cash only right?" and the person at the window said "no we can take your card"
Update: the store now has the wonderful addition of roaches running across the table while you eat. My boss insisted on eating at this location so glad I decided to order delivery from else where instead.
On all but one occasion I have been here and had bad service, sticky floors, food orders wrong ect. But this last time takes the cake. They were closing the store at 8 for renovations. Understandable. There were signs on the door that said this. But they closed the doors over half an hour early. Drive thru was still open so I waited in line at the drive thru for half an hour only to get to the front of the line and be turned away. The girl who was telling people they were closed was very rude about it as well. "We had signs on the door since 1am you should have read them" the signs on the door explained why the dining was closed there were no signs about drive thru.. When it got close to 8 they should have sent people outside to turn away the customers that got there after 8 not turn away everyone waiting since before 8 it's not our fault you guys have a horrible slow drive thru. I had a 2 year old, 12 year old, and 4 adults in the car that...
Read moreLiterally being ignored at the drive thru 3 times I have circled the store - only car in the line. 3 cars in the lot - 3 employees visibly inside (ironically seemingly working)... yet no communication at all from the staff to me at the drive thru.
Now another car has pulled up. Let’s see how long he waits... does he have the grit to bear with them as long as I have? It’s been nearly 15 mins I have been on this godforesaken piece of property... and still with no burrito to be seen.
I thought, perhaps, the presence of a second car (more revenue) would alert the team inside that there are hungry people awaiting their culinary delights... but sadly no.
Ah... a 3rd car.... perhaps now we will see a result.
All the while the two cars behind me likely think I am just making one MAJOR complex order... when really I am just silently typing this hoping to God someone on the other end of the intercom will pony up some prime Mexican food on a Saturday night.
After working all day, this is literally all I wanted... I don’t want another fast food option ... I have craved my burrito allll dayyyy.
Car #1 just left.... (-$$)
Car #2 is sticking it out! Will his patience pay off? Will mine? Will we both run out of gas here hoping for a taco? Ah! A 4th car has joined our farce!
All of us are leaving and going to other places because this location simply refuses to sell us food... shame.
Ps... it is 12 am and the building and internet clearly state you’re open until 3:30am at the drive...
