Captain D's — Restaurant in Canton

I love Captain D's! But I am not going to be going back to this location again. My daughter and I have been eating Captain D's together even before she was born! She is 18 now and it was the first time for each of us going alone.. She was in Texas for her Air Force Graduation! So that part is ok . I was here with my love at the hospital. I walked in with a great positive attitude and felt as if I was bothering the staff with another order. 3 front end girls immediately darted to the back as if it was a game to see which one had to deal with customers. The "unlucky front end cashier " was just plain out rude. I really thought that we were having a decent short conversation while ordering my food (which is wonderful) to find out that she didn't have any idea what I was doing there and didn't even care . And just started singing to whatever was on.. I think all people are great and important.. not here. Needless to say I changed my order for togo and sat in my car trying to find a nice way to let them know how those little things made my great day not so great. So after I ate my dinner now totally alone in my car outside in a parking lot. I walked in with a smile and returned the sour broccoli... then thanked them politely and left. Maybe we can help each other out and just be polite and smile listen .....

Since my memory isn’t what it used to be, I constantly confuse Captain D’s menu items with “the competition”, although I don’t often allow myself to indulge in fast food. I had a hankering for a fish taco, so we rolled into Captain D’s at the peak lunch hour today – obviously, my memory had failed me [again] since Captain D’s doesn’t offer a fish taco. Throwing caution to the wind (and kinda’ overwhelmed by all the options I wanted to try on the menu board), I ordered the three-piece battered white fish meal that included hush puppies and two sides. I gotta’ say it was OUTSTANDING! While it was way more food than I needed, the hush puppies were great, as was the cole slaw and broccoli. But the battered white fish was wonderful. Even after the 10-15 minutes it took to get home, the fish was still warm and the batter had a great crunch to it. The drive thru folks were friendly and accurate. Got the lobster roll and fries. Nothing about the lobster roll looked like the photo. The bun was toasted but hard and not warm. The lobster was shredded lobster pieces mixed with mayo. No large chunks like shown in the advertisement. A couple of pieces of shredded lettuce again nothing like the advertisement. The French fries were cold. The soda machine in the dining area was lacking carbonation. I asked the staff to fill it from a different machine and it was also flat. When I said this to her she made no comment and didn’t try to resolve the issue or offer a refund. 80% of my meal went in the trash. The music playing in the dining area was so full of static that it was quite unpleasant to hear. I always wondered why this restaurant never seems to have...
