We drove from Acworth 30+ mins to try this place for brunch. We arrived at shortly after 1. They weren’t terribly busy but there was a large table that had just come in before us. We placed our order and waited for what seemed like a good 25- 30 minutes for our food to arrive. Our server was very nice, friendly, but said that she was sorry for the wait , that they were trying to take care of the large party ahead of us. If that was true, then why was all of our food cold-barely lukewarm? I ate 2 bites of my fried chicken/fried green tomato biscuit- just not good at all. The “pimento cheese” looked more like Kraft bagged finely shredded cheese. You get 2 biscuits. One was hard and burnt on the top. My grits were COLD. Not even slightly warm, and they were very thick, chunky and just not good at all. My husband got chicken and waffles with fries. I ate one of his fries. They were inedible- Just dry, stale tasting and cold. He said his chicken and waffles were just ok. I didn’t eat more than 2 bites of my food and just lost my appetite and desire to eat. We were looking forward to eating here because I’d heard a lot of great things about it. I will say on a positive note that the server and the manager both offered to bring something else. They offered to bring me another meal, a free dessert, but I was just disappointed and feel like we were just forgotten about bc of the larger party that was obviously more important. Our food had to have been sitting in the window for a good while. All of our food was barely lukewarm, not flavorful and poorly cooked and prepared. I had been wanting to visit for dinner, but our experience here was just not good at all so we will probably...
Read moreThis was my FIRST TIME dining here. I brought my family this past Wednesday 5/17 around 7:30pm, to experience the snow crabs. When we arrived our waitress shared with us their Wednesday weekly specials. $49.00 for unlimited snow crabs. My family and I were shocked and said we will take an order of snow crabs and a couple of bisque soups. Once my family and I started to eat the snow crabs for the past 15 mins. The manager on duty (I suppose) came up to us and stated — with a tone, “ hey, you guys cannot share an order of snow crabs, it has to be ordered individually. “ I apologized and let him know weren’t aware. When we walked in we didn’t see a sign nor was told by our waitress the unlimited snow crabs is PER person. The manager on duty responded (in an ugly manner in our opinion) stating “ yeah, it’s per person, so you cannot all share. If you do, I’ll have to charge each of you guys $49.00. So do you want me to place another order? “ I snarky told him again “ Sorry, we didn’t know and yes go place me another order of snow crabs. “ He then replied back asking “ okay so which one of you two will be eating the snow crabs? “ I felt very rushed and said I don’t know yet but then pointed him to my mom and said “ I guess her. “ He then walked away and said “okay. “ It’s very unfortunate to have to experience this. I was really looking forward of having to come back again because the food was so delicious and our waitress was super friendly and very attentive to each of her tables!
Stopped in to try this place out and I have mixed thoughts.
Pros: The servers were very warm and friendly! It’s definitely a family friendly environment as they were very welcoming with our baby which we appreciated. Our food was also very good…we tried the brussel sprouts, Butch burger, pimento cheese bacon burger, and fried green tomatoes. Would definitely recommend for the food!
Middle Ground: I like the atmosphere but I think more could be done with it. It feels a bit cold and empty. I’d like to see it a bit more cozy or beachy. I think consistent beach music instead of pop music would really add to the vibe that they’re going for.
Cons: No prices on the drink menu. I was very disappointed with my drink (Mermaid on the Sea). It honestly tasted like water. The server was kind enough to let me switch it out with another drink, which was just okay. But looking at my bill, I was shocked to see that that the first drink would have been $12 which is just crazy to me for zero flavor and lots of ice. Their peach cobbler was also not a get again as it didn’t have much flavor either. Lastly, my mom is a vegetarian and was wondering if the vegetable sides had chicken stock but never got a clear answer on that from the servers.
Consensus: If they had better drinks, I would be a repeat customer for sure but as of right now, I’m not...
