Let me start with saying everything was great; from our friendly waitress, atmosphere, drinks and apps. We arrived at 6pm for a meal before a show at the Palace Theatre at 7:30. Meals were ordered around 6:15. Our drinks were always full, apps came quickly, but then a long wait for our entrees happened. At 7:15 we became a little concerned if our food would be out soon, as the show was going to start soon, and we've been waiting a considerable amount of time. We asked our waitress to have our food boxed up instead of brought to the table since we were in a hurry. We were disappointed that the food took too long, but we didn't ask for any discounts, and tipped our waitress well since the food times are not her issue.
The food taking long was a bummer, but the moment it all turned is when our checks were brought to us by someone other than our waitress. As she set the checks down she says "Good food takes time. This isn't fast food" and then walked off as fast as can be to avoid any response from us. We were absolutely blown away by the comment, we were even more taken aback when we found out it was the owner, Star, who made the comment to us.
So Star, in response to your absolutely low class comment to your customers that spent over $250 that evening at your establishment, good food does take time, but not an hour. Sorry your business isn't built to handle a rush before a show. Instead of lashing out at patrons that are spending their time and money with you, maybe offer an apology for the wait times, offer a drink, or take something off the bill. I couldn't imagine trying to dig at my customers instead of understanding the situation and trying my best...
Read moreWe first went in and were happy with the atmosphere. Then the waitress (Reavyn) came to get our drink order. I asked about the margarita special (supposed to be $3) and told her I would like one of those. She then brought out a tiny margarita. I didn't know what to expect because I had never been there. The other half of our party showed up and asked why my drink was so small. We asked Reavyn and she said it was better alcohol and that it was a $5 special and the others were $3. So we proceeded to order dinner and I had the special. It was completely mediocre at best. Very bland. We also ordered appetizers and they were decent. Then the bill comes. My husband didn't really look at it closely because we normally don't have problems at other places we frequent. So we get home and I check out the bill and she charged $12 for the margarita when I originally only wanted the $3 one to begin with. Really wouldn't complain, but it was the smallest margarita I have ever seen and I actually told her I wanted the $3 one. Also, Reavyn was not a good waitress at all. There was only one other table there and we had to flag her down every time we needed something and it took her forever to get it because she was busy chatting with a person at the bar the whole evening. So it was a pretty bad experience all-in-all. I certainly hope the other waitresses are more attentive and don't rip people off. I won't be going back to...
Read moreMy husband and I ate here for the first time and all I can say is WOW! The fried green tomatoes appetizer which was served with goat cheese and a sweet chili sauce was the best we have ever had, anywhere. I ordered the chicken piccata as my entree which was cooked perfectly. My husband ordered the Marquez pita with fries and absolutely loved it. We had all of that plus two mixed drinks and a glass of wine and our bill was only $70. Will definitely be back if not for anything but the fried green tomatoes. It's a very unassuming place that only has about ten tables and maybe 20 bar seats, but whoever they have making the menu and cooking the food definitely know what they're doing!!! The bartender was friendly and still did a great job even though almost every seat in the place was filled. No wonder why with such...
