This was a phenomenal restaurant. Would highly recommend.
Complimentary: Bread and Oil was wonderful. The bread was Ciabatta, and the oil had basil in it. 9/10
Antipasti: We got their special for the evening, which was the cold smoked salmon ravioli. It was delicious. The ravioli was cooked to perfection, the salmon was delicious, and the cream sauce was great. Used the Ciabatta Bread to clean up the rest of the cream sauce, that's how wonderful it was. 10/10
Insalata: I got the Romaine salad. The greens were good, but where this shined was the dressing. It was amazing, creamy, and paired well with the romaine, egg, and pancetta. 7/10
Primi: My wife got the Gnocchi. She quote enjoyed the pesto cream sauce and the parmesan that was on it. 10/10 I got the Mushroom Ragout. Oh my word, the mushroom were large and scrumptious. The truffle butter and the pappardelle noodles were astounding. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. 10/10
Bevande: My wife got the Black Cherry Daiquiri, she says it was a 10/10. I thought it was quite good as well. I got their spin on a negroni. It was exceptional, would recommend. 10/10
Dolce: Sadly, we were too stuffed on Ciabatta bread to get dessert. Although they all sounded good. -/10
Atmosphere: Perfect for a romantic date night. They had a live pianist there, he had quite the dramatic flair. The place was beautiful as well, and not overly crowded. 10/10
Waitress: We had Anna as our waitress. She was prompt, kind, and explained the different specials and options really well. Not pushy either, was really professional. She made sure that we had a good time. 10/10

We have a rule in our house that each Birthday must be celebrated at a new spot. We hadn’t tried Lucca since the new owners took over, so I made our reservation for my Husband’s BIG birthday there.
When we walked in, we were greeted and seated right away—at a sweet cozy table right by the beautiful piano. Anna was our server—she was amazing and attentive without being overbearing.
She told us the specials right away and indicated that there were only two of the ribeyes left so let her know if we wanted them—we did!
We started with the peppers in oil—a generous helping and the bread kept coming. They had a bit of a kick to them, but it wasn’t overwhelming.
My husband tried the Cherry Bourbon Manhattan and was duly impressed with the combination of flavors.
I think I literally exclaimed when our steaks arrived. Cooked perfectly and topped with Blue cheese and Bacon (I am always ALL in for that) served over a delicious smashed potato with just a touch of sweetness to set off the savory of the steak and toppers, pulled together with fresh asparagus. It was a delight for ALL of the senses.
The dessert was just right and just enough to share. Overall the atmosphere was just what we were looking for and the food was out of this world. We were delighted with our visit!
When I posted the pictures of the food on my socials, one of my friends said, “That’s what I’m having for my next birthday!”
We might have to break our rule because I agree—I’m looking forward to going back to Lucca for our next special occasion (or even a...

I can buy the same wine on their lists as I can at Fisher Foods or Giant Eagle. As a wine advocate, that was their first strike. As my date and I were seated, they placed us right beside the entrance to the hallway. Of course I took the entrance side, but it made for an uncomfortable dining experience. Our appetizer was calamari and was the highlight of the evening at Lucca. It had our hopes for a delicious meal racing high.
My date ordered mushroom risotto which is her and my favorite. The dish came out in a "glump", overcooked and solid as a rock. Flavor was fair at best. If you sell yourself as a "nuovo ristorante italiano", I suggest you know how to make risotto. ugh!
I ordered the ribeye and it was over cooked to the manner that it really isn't worth my experience here to describe it other to say, Golden Corral has similar flavor profiles for a whole lot less.
Our server "felt" our dissatisfaction, but chose to ignore us the rest of the evening except for minor visits to fill our water glass. We still tipped her handsomely, however, you could cut her nervousness with a knife .. well if I hadn't dulled it on the overcooked ribeye.
I am going to wait a while before going back to Lucca's, but will give them a second chance, because Canton needs an authentic Italian restaurant. Unfortunately, as of now .. we don't. The owner/chef seems young, which is okay, but studying a little more in perhaps Milano would...
