Culture Lounge — Restaurant in Canton

So, tonight was my 3rd time here and I really wanted to support it. Unfortunately, objectively, I can’t. The prices make absolutely no sense. I was charged $30 for a single shot of Knob Creek, when the entire bottle is $35 retail. I’ve been in the industry for years, please use a proper mark up, because that’s robbery. Even at an 80% mark up, that’s less than $6 a pour. Most bars charge $7/9… $30??? Be so for real? The majority of the food is fried, and what isn’t fried is just ok. The greens were wildly sweet and cooked to death, extremely disappointing. I came in today to see a friend working there. Other than her, not a single employee acknowledged our group. The bartender who eventually served us was nice, but that’s it. Bare minimum service for maximum prices makes no sense unless the atmosphere or product is top notch. Neither is true. I want to support this business and I want them to succeed in the space as a long time downtown local. They will be hard pressed with 300% priced bourbon and a staff who looks and acts like they can’t be bothered. Genuinely just...

The atmosphere was wonderful and the music selection was great. With that being said management and wait staff need a lot of work especially when hosting events. We reserved a table for four for the all white and all black parties. When we arrived our table has already been given away. We let it ride and allowed them to sit us somewhere else after being reassured we would have our reserved table. The food is terrible and leaves much to be desired. It is overpriced and lacks flavor and visual appeal. After asking for our check it took over 30 minutes to receive it and we had to ask three times for it. On Saturday our table was given away yet again and we weren't even given another option for a table. After a waitress took our drink order we never received them. I wanted to wait til I had enough experiences here to leave a fair review. The atmosphere is amazing. Great ownership, music isn't too loud and the luxury aesthetic makes this place feel like an upscale venue in Cleveland. I've tried several of their food items and all have been delicious - the wings especially. The seating is seat yourself and ordering is a bit confusing because it can take a while for the servers/bartender to come to you, if they come at all. There's no sign that communicates this, but your best chance is going up to the bar to place food and drink orders and then sit.
