I am struggling to gather the words to describe my shocking interaction with the owner today during my first ever visit here for tea. It was our grandmotherâs birthday and 9 of us girls came to celebrate. The tea room and ambiance were incredible! We enjoyed some of the tastiest tea I have ever sipped. The laughter and enjoyment were top notch. However, with the $40 price per person we were a tad disappointed to find all of the bread and croissants to be stale. Stale to the point of each guest leaving them on our plates and unable to eat them. This didnât set us off or ruin our fun until after we paid the bill in full and mentioned to the sever that we didnât love the stale bread. She ran our card, we tipped and signed the receipt. A tad surprised that we were not met with any apologies or any offer from her or the owner. Just that our server has mentioned it to the owner and she didnât care. Surprised by this approach we all discussed the lack of care for customer satisfaction with the server (who was a doll for our entire visit). As we were getting up from the table the owner busted out of the back and addressed the table with a very harsh tone and said âI hear you had a unsatisfactory experienceâ no apologies, no questions or concerns, just a harsh tone and very evident attitude. I immediately spoke up and told her we loved the tea and really enjoyed our time! We simply were surprised that our total was $380 and the bread was so stale that we all put it to the side of our plates (I pointed out the bread left all around the table). She immediately began to raise her voice and get ugly. Told me I just wanted something for free and let me remind you that we paid in full and did not ask for a single discount. She continued to tell me there was absolutely nothing she could do and got so upset and loud. I demanded she back away from me and my CHILDREN and let us leave. It was very heated and I was SO embarrassed. I have never been yelled at my an owner of an establishment after a very valid complaint. This was absolutely unacceptable and I am discussed by her behavior in front of 3 very young children. I rarely leave reviews but as a business owner myself, this needs to be addressed. PS- to the owner: It was so evident that you had a terrible day and I want you to know that I forgive you and hope that everything is ok in your life. We all have had bad days and react out of emotion. I genuinely hope you are having a better night and am...
Read moreI had the pleasure of a magical afternoon sharing in a Sweetyâs Tea experience. Making online reservations was the easiest process and secured our exact time and date. Upon our arrival, the owner, Cheryl welcomed us so warmly and brought us to our beautifully set table. As we began to read the tea menu, we shared in conversation over the history of the china set on our table (found in our tea booklet). It was really neat to read about the history of the china on our table and the collaboration between Tea Leaves & Thyme and Sweetyâs Cafe. The next welcoming voice was our incredible waitress, Lynn. What a delight Cheryl & Lynn both were and it is apparent that their hearts are in this tea room!
Our first tea choice, with help from Lynnâs descriptions of the teas, we decided on the Cheeky Peach. It was absolutely delicious with many complimenting flavors. Lynn then brought us our first course, a wonderful salad. It was very flavorful with sweet pecans, purple onions, lettuce, tomatoes, a sprinkling of cheese, and topped with French dressing. Lynn then brought out Sweetyâs homemade Scones with Lemon Curd & Sweety's Cream. Lynn explained that the Sweetyâs Cream is similar to Devonshire Cream and that we might want to save some for our fruit coming on our tired tea tray. Iâm so happy we saved some of that delicious cream. I could have eaten the whole bowl. The scones were equally as delicious with their poppy seeds and topped with sweet lemon glaze. We decided on the Sweet Georgia Chicken Salad for our croissant sandwiches. We loved this chicken salad choice! Next, the star of the show was the tiered tray with all the goodies. Each treat was more delicious than the previous. The pimento cheese sandwich on a cinnamon raisin bread was a combination I was unsure of until I ate it. I was in love with the unique combination of flavors. We tried some of our Sweetyâs Cream on our fruit like Lynn said to do and it was amazing. All the sweet eats complimented our second pot of tea, Raspberry Ginger. The Raspberry Ginger tea was a burst of flavors, so unique.
We are so happy that Sweetyâs Cafe & Ice Cream opened this exceptional tea room at the heart of the City of Canton in The Mill on Etowah. This was such a wonderful experience. We are planning a Bridal tea soon and are excited for...
Read moreThis cafe and ice cream shoppe located inside the Mill on Etowah has quickly become a family favorite. The menu offers great selections or salads, sandwiches, soup and a great kid menu. They recently introduced lunchbox deliveries for larger groups which is something we really don't have here in Canton so this is a nice service that I will be using on the future.
I could not make a decision with so many amazing selections so I decided on the scoop sampler where I chose four different "scoops" (protein, veggie, fruit, pasta & specialty). The daily specials included an Mediterranean Orzo salad so that was one of my selections along with Pimento Cheese, Macaroni Salad and Sweety's Original Chicken Salad. The Mediterranean Salad was very delicious made with cherry red tomatoes and olives that just melted in my mouth. The Pimento Cheese was Southern style and tasted like it came out of Grandma's kitchen. My favorite was the Sweety's Original Chicken Salad that included almonds and grapes. The last scoop I chose was the Macaroni Salad in a creamy mayonnaise sauce. Each salad was unique and equally delightful.
My husband ordered the Kickin' Chicken Sandwich and we were planning on sharing it but I only had one bite because he devoured it. He said it was the best Kickin' Chicken Sandwich he had ever eaten and I agree. It was so delectable combining sweet and spicy flavors in one sandwich.
We couldn't leave without some ice cream and a cookie sandwich, both putting an end to my sweet cravings. The ice cream was Kentucky Bourbon Brownie Bite and the cookie sandwich was two Chocolate Chip Cookies with a delicious icing in the middle. Both selections were heavenly.
While visiting the cafe we had the honor to meet the owner Cheryl who is an absolute joy! Each time my family returns she remembers who we are and greets us so kindly. The whole staff has excellent customer service, is knowledgeable, always explains the daily specials and they are so personable. We are so happy to have Sweety's Cafe as part of the Canton community. Cheryl and her team continue to surprise us with unique ice cream flavors and distinctive...
