My Wife and made our first visit here on Friday Feb 3, 2023. (we have been to 4 or 5 other locations previously). It was around 8-9 PM. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a table and were finally seated at a booth for six. The waitress brought us water and eventually came back to take our order.
I ordered 10 wings and she ordered Chicken Tinga. She doesn't care for any other items there and this is the only thing she ever orders. She has always been satisfied when ordering it at any of the Marietta/Kennesaw locations.
After about 30 minutes the food came. Mine was fine and I began eating. However hers was almost completely covered in cilantro. Nothing like the same meal at the other locations. Cilantro should be a garnish, not an ingredient. After a good while the waitress returned to check on us and my Wife told her that she couldn't eat that and didn't want to waste time picking it off. There was really a LOT!
The waitress took the food back to the kitchen. Meanwhile I was halfway finished with my meal. After another LONG while she returned with the food. No cilantro this time but it was covered in onions. Previous times there may have been onions in it but not ON it. My Wife began trying to pick them off the top, but there were a lot.
When the waitress finally came back, I was finished eating and my Wife was still trying to get the onions off. She dug around to find the chicken and could only find two gristly, shredded, hard chunks. Remember this was CHICKEN Tinga! The meal was also way oversalted, as were the tortilla chips, which she couldn't eat. That was the last straw. She pushed it away having not even enough to even tell.
Eventually a man in a Taco Mac polo shirt came to the table. He did not introduce himself. All he had to say was that this was how they make it at that location, with onions all over the top. They offered to take it back again but since I was finished and it took so long to receive the food the second time we declined. He did not offer any refund or discount at that time. We asked for the check.
The check came and it was for the full amount. In my opinion, the polo shirt guy (Manager?) should have Franked or discounted her meal. There was nothing offered, not even an apology. Needless to say, we will not be visiting this location again. This is a perfect example of how a restaurant loses 2 customers due to a very simple, easily rectified occurrence!
Note: I have noticed a decline in customer service at most of the Taco Macs in this area. Perhaps it's a lack of employees wanting to work but more seriously lack of good management as indicated in this review. It's now been a couple of weeks since this visit and I'm still hesitant to ever visit...
Read moreMy small family of 4, 2 adults, a 5 year old and a 1 year old, agreed to go here for a quick dinner on a Wednesday night. We walked in the door where two other families were standing. No acknowledge from the hostess at all. Not a "be right with you" nothing! Starting off well huh? We get sat at a table and waited only a couple min before our drink order was taken, not bad., My husband and I each got a beer, me a Miller and him a Stella, his was flat. We weren't ready for our order the first time our server asked. After deciding he came back and took our order without writing it down. (I've been a waitress, bartender, cocktail waitress back in my younger years. Always wrote everything down) From here everything was going ok. Our food came out. Daughter ordered mini corn dogs with apples, I got the steak fajita tacos, and my husband got a wing platter with fries. The manager or food runner brought our food. Everything seemed fine until we started eating. Seemed as though the food had been sitting in the window for a few min because nothing was hot. My taco shells were now a little crispy, husbands wings looked like yesterdays, and my daughter had fries instead of apples. We started eating our food without complaint because we have two kids and wanted a fast meal and to go home. The manager/food runner did come by and ask how everything was, that's when we told him my daughter wanted apples not fries which he brought for us. We hadn't seen our server Tyler much since we ordered though he did walk by as he said "everything ok" we said yeah, which it obviously wasn't. After we were done eating we waited about 10 min before we saw our server again. I immediately pulled out my card to pay then waited another 10-15 min before my card came back. At this point, the restaurant was dead! Not sure why the food wasn't hot and we waited so long to see our server. Not happy with my experience I left a tip less than I normally would have which ended up being a total of $43.35. Today I happened to jump online and look at my bank account.... To my surprise Taco Mac had charged my card $81.65!!!!!!! Immediately I called my husband and gave him the information. He called the store where I suppose the manager was nice but did not care about our terrible experience or the fact that this was OBVIOUSLY NOT A MISTAKE!!!! My husband then called our bank where they told us it was obviously on purpose, He made a claim. At this point, I will NEVER be eating at Taco Mac in Canton! Hope this doesn't happen to...
Read moreThis use to be our go to place... unfortunately this will probably be our last time coming... they have decided to leave their small plates sitting on the table for when you sit down, the only problem is they are the same plates as the person before you as seen while they were cleaning off tables... we realized this after we had placed our orders for the grilled buffalo chicken sandwich and mild roasted wings and being halfway through a quaso as our appetizer using mentioned plates... once our server brought my wife's salad my wife realized that they had set it down on a another table on the other side of the restaurant before bringing it to her with the wrong dressing and no silverware. Our server then brought us out the correct salad dressing along with a set of silverware unwrapped in a cocktail shaker that had water marks in the bottom. Before my wife could even take 2 bites of her salad out came our food. My wife took a single bite into her sandwich to find thay the chicken patty was mostly fat. At this point a manager came over on her own to ask how everything came out. We asked her about the plates to which she first responded that they replace only the top one between each person until we mentioned that people probably touch more then just the top one so then she changed her story to say that they replace all the plates each time someone gets up. We then complained about the salad going to the wrong table first in which she stated that she brought our salad out and had to get us silverware which is why she herself walked to the other side of the restaurant. My wife then stated that her sandwich was all fatty at which point the manager did offer my wife to change her order. After the manager had left our table I was finally able to have one of my "mild" wings to find out that they were actually hot wings instead... for the rest of our dinner however we watched as multiple servers cleared their tables to discover the manager was correct about the plates but only that they do in fact only change the top one IF there were still 4 plates sitting there otherwise they just add however many are missing. So over the course of our dinner we had the "manager" lie to us twice and each of us had incorrect food delivered and ate off of very unsanitary plates... this will be the last time we ever go to the...
