Englund's Subs — Restaurant in Cape Coral

Englund’s Subs On Del Prado 5-31-24 My wife and I were hungry for an Italian Sub today. We wanted something that was fresh and tasty, so we want down to Englund’s Subs. We got the around noon and there was a little bit of a line to order but it moved fast. This place is not fancy with all the bells and whistles. It’s very basic with just a couple tables inside a chip rack, meat cooler, soda coolers and order counter. It was clean and tidy; we were able to sit at one of the tables. Once at the counter I ordered a what’s called a Whole Super Italian Sub that my wife and I would split. They have this sub in 7 inch which they call the ½ sub and 14 inch which they call the whole sub. Our whole sub was 14 inch of Ham, Capicola, Pepperoni, Salami, Provolone with Tomatoes, Lettuce, Oregano, Onion, Mayo, Oil, Vinegar, Salt, and Pepper. All that for about 14 bucks. This sub was large enough for 3 to 4 people to eat it, I mean it was packed full. Everything tasted fresh as we watched them slice a lot of the ingredients from the deli counter that went into this sub. The bread was also very fresh and not hard or chewy. This was and is one of the best subs you will find in this area. We could not eat the entire sub and took the leftovers to the nurses at the Cape Coral Hospital. If you want the BEST subs, go here. This review was for the Super Italian Sub only, but I am betting the rest of there subs are just as good. That’s why a lot of locals go here, they know where the good food is. I was supposed to been post my review.But about 2 weeks ago.I go into the restaurant.and I normally have a nice friendly man greeting me.But on this day it was a women.I told her I wanted a Cuban.And told her I wanted turkey and ham all the way.She says that's not a Cuban.And I shook my head ok, basically I stand corrected.And told her I wanted it all the way.She gave me mayo,ham, turkey and cheese with pickles.I spent $35 on 2 with just those topping.Very bland sub. Her attitude was rude.When I would speak,she would speak over me.And when I called to ask,can it be corrected.She says no.I have 4 customers in front of me.Bye.Ive gotten my subs from here for 15 years now.Just to get this experience.He leaves at 2pm if anyone reads this review.and don't want back customers service and a good sub.I to service customers.So I know what it looks like when an associate,is just Horrible to a customer.They tend to mess up...

Traveling... close by give it a try. I caught this, I am sure, very nice owner on a day by himself. Not that sandwiches should be fun, but he was all business and I think a little annoyed about something. I understand lunchtime, doing EVERYTHING by yourself can get on your nerves. Trust me I get it. But maybe just a little extra effort to be customer friendly to road weary traveler would have done the trick. The sandwich was great! I did take notice, without much effort, they need to clean the place up. With Bleach. The food case was clean, but tables, floors, napkin holder, front door, all things to do with handles, etc, could really use some spic and span. For that purpose, I will not return. Plus they had CSI show on pretty loud, one of the more... for lack of a better word... "upsetting" episodes, not really the most appetizing show...
