Mr. & Mrs. Crab is one of my favorite local places. I go here 1-2 times a week for a cheat meal after a hard week of work and keeping up with my fitness routine. I get the same order every week, fried shrimp and fried calamari. I always asked for it to be cooked in cajun seasoning. These last two times I've ordered to go via Uber eats and asked in the order deatils that my strip was cooked with the cajun seasoning. Day one, that was ignored and they put the seasoning on the side. Maybe they missed the note and didn't see it until after? Whatever. Today I ordered the same thing for the other day and wrote my note as usual, BUT this time I called and made the request. The girl who answers the phone is always nice, she asked the back and they asked if it could be put on the side. I said "I guess...if it makes it easier on you?". This defeated the entire purpose of my call and wasted my precious breath and time. As someone who has worked in the restaurant industry, I understand annoying requested that regulars make but at the end of the day that's what keeps them coming back for more. I would have appreciated them being honest with me or telling me that's it's not usually cooked that way or it's cooked in larger batches making it harder on the team to do that. This kind of put a salty taste in my mouth for a bit. So yeah, thank you.
09/27/19: ordered the same thing as always. Extra Exyra benefit of the doubt Came back not seasoned in Cajun. I think they cook this type of dish on batches vs. Individually. Posted my recent from today. Post dropped to 2 stars
10/11/19: My fiance wanted Mr. And Mrs. Crab, he ordered it on 10/06 19. They finally cooked it the way we've...
Read moreJust came from Mr & Mrs Crab with my family! The Food was delicious! I recommend the Mr. & Mrs Crab Special sauce when ordering. The pricing was definitely on the high side and I think they could have added more for the price that was given.
But I also understand that buying seafood is not cheap. It was still worth the money that we paid to eat there. It was our first time there for all of us and I was happy that they accommodated all 9 of us quickly! All of the other Seafood restaurants were packed and just too much.
I had the 1/2 Ib Shrimp, 1/2 Ib Sausage, 4 boiled eggs 2 Potatoes, mac and cheese, Corn and a large Strawberry Lemonade. My husband had the 1 Ib Crab (3 whole Crabs), some Coconut Shrimps corn, 3 potatoes and a large Strawberry Lemonade. My Child had the Mac and Cheese a basket of fries apple juice and water.
So our bill came out to be $60.10 and we tipped the waitress 20% which was $11.33. Our waitress was really nice and helpful. I wish I could remember her name :(. I'm really bad with remembering names. She asked if we wanted refills a couple of times, she had no problems with repeating our order just so I knew we were both on the same page. She asked us if we all got everything and if we needed anything else.
She checked back on us to make sure we were set and asked us how the food was and how we were doing. She was a great waitress.
So if the owner is reading this, ask who ever had the party of 9 with the african-american table on Saturday March 27, 2021. Let her know that she did a fantastic job with Serving us and give her some type of monetary reward! It's hard out here as it is. I used to be a...
Read more6.12.2020 (6:45-7:45pm) visit. Second visit from an out-of-towner and excited for our return. Let me first start by saying the staff (2nd day server and her trainer) were very nice and helpful and the food was good as well. Would return again for the food if the environment was more palatable.
However, upon sitting down the music was very loud to the point the server couldn't hear us even after we had taken our masks off once we had been sat. After a good 5 minutes, I asked the trainer to turn it down which was only slightly turned down. There was an attempt but after I had come back from the bathroom my table said the music was back up again.
Most of my reviews are pretty positive and I do indeed like the food and the staff but the music volume made any conversation between the table and with the servers difficult. I downloaded a decibel app to record a song that played. The pictures are attached with an avg of 78db and high of 86db. A quick Google search (cdc.gov) shows this is the range of gas powered leaf blowers and 2hrs of exposure can be damaging to hearing. Thankfully we were only there for 1 hour.
However, that's only part of the issue. Probably half a dozen kids sitting at the table near us (social distancing in place 👍) and the explicit music that was playing is unacceptable for non-club scenarios (time and place of course as we're all early 30s). I attached the lyrics to the Dr. Dre song below. If I was the franchisee of this location, I would address this promptly. Don't need/nor want any free food but would appreciate this being brought to my attention so as to address...
