The restaurants atmosphere and decor gives an upscale vibe. We expected a great experience.
The hostess was welcoming but the Service was ok. No recommendations were offered. Prices are ok but menu is very simple and short of options.
We order the shrimp toast which was really good but the prosciutto was thick and dry. It would had been better with thin crispy prosciutto, the sauce was really good.
Our lemonade was from a machine which left an after taste we switched to Pepsi which also had an after taste. The glasses were very pretty. The bread service is just an Italian style bread, one little slice per person with an exaggerated amount of garlic salt and the butter was regular margarine. I would had expected a rosemary or garlic whipped butter and I didn’t expect for them to be to so cheap as to provide a little slice of semi warm bread.
Ordered the crab cakes they never came.
After an hour and 15 minutes our split dinner arrived.
For dinner we decided to split the homemade pasta Pappadelle, dish was ok at its best. Not worth an hour wait at all. Sauce was made with new Parmesan not aged so the taste did not have that spark. And way Too much peas for our taste maybe they should add truffles or rustic sundried tomatoes instead or even just fresh grilled Cajun prawns would had lifted the taste.
Presentation was ok.
My advice as a person that travels around the nation daily and eats at all kinds of places including upscale restaurants. It would be smart for Chef Houston to travel to Miami and try Casablanca and chef Adrian’s kitchen. Then tour New York and try Rezdora. That might spark a flare on his dishes.
After all we got up and paid the bar tender because our server were...
Read moreWanted a nice establishment to celebrate our wedding anniversary and Beacon 53 did NOT disappoint! Great atmosphere, service and food.
Being located at a Casino was a concern for me so I checked it out before making a reservation. The enterance is separte from the casino or hotel. So there were no loud sounds, flashing lights or smoke smell. It was calm and serene.
The restaurant affords a view of the Mississippi River that is not available at any other establishment in Cape Girardeau. Fantastic!
There service was attentive without being presumptuous. The staff was impeccable in their timing and anticipation of our desires.
Their food was delightful. We started with drinks shrimp ceviche which was as good as we have ever tasted. The bread was a special treat. My wife had the fresh fish. She loved it. I tried the Ravioli with a side of Brussels Sprouts. Both exceeded my expectations. We rounded off our meal with French Press Coffee and lingered.
This has become our favorite restaurant in Missouri by far and stands in the midst of our top ten in the country alongside of...
Read moreThe restaurant was beautiful. There was a lack of ambiance due to the band playing music loudly in the restaurant below us. The service staff was okay. We asked for a manger due to a seating issue and she did not come the first time we asked. Due to the size of our party, 15 people, we were asked to order ahead of time, which we did. Despite ordering our food a day in advance, the food took two hours to come out. When the food did come out, several plates of pasta were cool and both steak entrees were cool. After sending the plates back into the kitchen, the steaks came back and the steak that I ordered was medium instead of medium well. The manager was called again to comp the meal and barely warm while the plate was hot. The dinner was for my birthday and I was offered two desserts at the end of the meal but the entire experience left a lot to be desired! My recommendation is if you want to bring a large...
