Well first off I did not know that that was the same establishment that has been so esteemed in our community for such a very long time. Well I just walked right in I was greeted with the menu and allowed to sit while I was just getting take out. Everything looks so good it was hard to choose, because it's food like you get at home. And they're very polite and Charming even and the prettiest waitresses you ever seen. But very detail oriented and professionally patient. The whole place was very clean and tidy from top to bottom. Charming atmosphere, and I like it because it is close to the bridge and a quick shot off of 74 which course goes right to Kingshighway and 55 so if it's close to everywhere. Parking was real easy and there was plenty of room. Most of the spots were right by the building, where they got doors conveniently located, that's all flat ground. So you can just go straight in without much walking. They got real glass salt pepper shakers, and a squeeze bottles for you condiments that you get to keep it the table case you want more. Everything's real, the coffee cups and the saucers and the tea glasses and the napkin holders and the forks and the knives and spoons and even the menus that have actual pictures of the real food that look like the real food but they don't taste too good..no I'm kidding ;-) I did enjoy The View, even though I was only there for seem like no time. The glass all the way around at the same level as the top of your booth and you can see the people moving out there coming and going from state to state or just on their daily Aaron's and that you kind of mood Sands Pancake House is going to put you in. Prices are real good, portions are on the money, and I heard some lifetime customers in there telling their company they brought along for a special culinary treat that you can have just about anything you want optioned up or made special. All I know is when I go back on with the same thing I wanted when I went in there it's so good I doubt I'd ever get tired of it. And I tell you what I'm being 1000% serious here, I believe there at that place they got some of the best in the whole wide world I'd highly recommend this place it was...
Read moreSand's Pancake House has been a staple in Cape Girardeau for decades. I can remember going for breakfast at the old establishment on N. Kingshighway. The food was always delicious and always fresh. It was a smoking restaurant back in the day, so it could get a bit overwhelming at times. When they moved into their current location, we were living out of town. Whenever we would come to visit family, we always went to Sand's for breakfast and occasionally lunch. Our most recent visit was on New Year's Day and they were slammed. They seemed to be short staffed, with only two on the floor working the tables and the register. Despite that, they knocked it out of the park. They were super friendly, and given the amount of people dining, were as fast as they could be. My wife and I both had the "Good Morning Special" and we both agreed that the food was amazing! The portions are large, so if you're hungry then this is your place. Their pancakes are larger than the plate, which is great! Sand's is what it is: a diner. Good home cooking, friendly staff, and plenty of options on the menu to satisfy most anyone. We will continue to do our monthly Sunday breakfast and will always bring friends who are in from out of town. Note: They are a cash only establishment. They do have an...
Read moreOMG! 😄 The food & service was spectacular! 😃 There was a variety of people from different backgrounds and all walks of life as customers. 💐 No matter who you were or where you are from, they treated each and every person with kindness and respect. The servers treated you like a family member that dropped by and they told you to sit at the dinner table because the food was ready. Look, if you don't care for the commercial hustle and bustle of places like the major competitors in town located on the interstate and you appreciate an old fashioned home cooked meal served with a warm smile, then this is the "perfect breakfast joint for you. 🍳🥓🥞🍞🍽💕👍🏾
PS. "CASH ONLY" 💵 however there is an ATM available inside for your convenience. Oh! And a single pancake is nearly the size of a frisbee (no joke). My family member and I ordered two specialty omelettes, 1 coffee, 1 orange juice, came with 2 orders of hasbrown, 2 orders of toast, and added 2 stacks of pancakes that had M&Ms on them. Including tax our total was only $26 and change! I don't know too many places left in today's society that has all of this to offer for this price. You've gotta experience this awesome establishment for...
