My goodness where to start the food was great though not the best I've ever had. That being said probably my favorite dinner experience if you go do yourself a favor and don't go to the bar ask for the section where the grill is in front of the table mind you the food alone is worth the price. That being said in this section you don't just get the typical experience of a Mongolian grill style thing where you watch your food prepared. Oh no it's dinner and a show and not just a show your part of it. It was definitely my best dinning experience ever. Though one piece of advice don't have your mouth full when the chef comes he needs a yes and will drill you for it 😂. He does this because this is a place that demands perfection and wants you to be entirely satisfied. The staff speaks English well but with heavy accents which wouldn't be a issue but the music was a bit loud so I did have to ask him to repeat himself once but he...
Read moreHighly disappointed! However I did not try the hibachi. I had a combination box chicken teriyaki dinner. The rice was at least a day old. Teriyaki sauce was too thin. Chicken was previously frozen and chewy. Tempura was the highest disappointment. It tasted like frozen vegetables had been flash-fried in funnel cake batter. Shrimp tempura also was too doughy then lightly rolled in panko crust, and the shrimp itself was definitely frozen previously. Tempura sauce was also filled with sugar and not traditional. The "Japanese" salad was nothing more than classic iceberg bagged from Sam's club and the sauce was quite sweet and way too runny. The Miso soup was okay but weak. On a positive note, the ambience of the new restaurant was clean, bright, and exciting. Drink prices were excellent, but no one was at the bar. It has great potential, but is definitely not a true traditional high quality Japanese...
Read moreThe food its self was really good and the entertainment (cooking the food) was pretty good too. I had gone there for lunch with s couple of my international Japanese friends, I'm a student at SEMO. While they like the experience, they said that the food resembled nothing from back in Japan (Not just taste wise, but also that they do not serve meats and the vegetables like that in Japan). The final thing that got me though, and that made me give 3 stars, is that there is not a single Japanese person working there. Our chef tried giving my group a discount, he was flirting with the girls the whole time, and the owner of the store came out exclaiming in Chinese that that was only a discount for dinner. So all in all Shoguns is a good place to go eat, with great food and a good night out, but it is most defiantly not...
